Apparently there's a notion going round the Interwebs that it's the woman who played Aunt Bee in "The Andy Griffith Show." I found this out by cheating and using Tineye.

It's always interesting to discover that a celebrity you perceive as older was actually hot stuff in their youth. Helen Mirren had a on-screen reputation in the 60s as a sex bomb. Maggie Smith (the dowager Countess in Downton Abbey) was a babe around the same time.

I didn't know Gordy either, but I once almost bought a brown belt in Florence, Italy. It was one of those leather street vendors & he was asking 20 some thousand for it. Can you imagine? Well, you're supposed to haggle so I offered him 20. He just laughed and I didn't get the belt.
But you made him laugh which is priceless for laughter is man's best friend. Either way... HEEHAW!
I had a cup that was kinda the same, sort of late 50s-ish I'm thinking. Think it's still around here somewhere. I should check the attic or the outhouse and have a real good look at it, see if it has the same old "grip" as I remember it having back when I first got it from a hot chocolate vending machine at the community center where Gordy was taking karate lessons on tuesdays after school. His folks used to take me with them to show me what kind of cool things I would be able to do if my Dad would stop drinking and get a job. I didn't really know Gordy that much but I remember thinking that he would be a pretty boss kid to have for a friend. I think he got a brown or a green belt from his karate class. But nothing like Bruce Lee or anything.
