Times article linked says
But by winning seven races in succession, including two on Tuesday, Oracle has tied the series at 8-8.

SAN FRANCISCO — Oracle Team USA swept two races against Emirates Team New Zealand in the America's Cup on Tuesday, completing a monumental comeback to tie the event and forcing a winner-take-all race on Wednesday. Only problem is: Kiwis need to win 9, but Oracle needs to win 11 to take the cup . Oracle was found guilty of some infraction in the lead-up and were penalized...
edit: maybe not. Could have sworn I heard that when I was watching the first race.

this new format is pretty exciting. 31m lead at 30 knots is just a whisker, soooo close.

New Zealand has always been good for the Cup and they deserve to win. I'd just like them to stay at one for a while so we can see more racing.

Agreed, I think it is going to be really close from here on in.
I imagine Oracle will close the gap but ETNZ only needs a couple of wins to take it. It will be a nail-biting finish, depending a lot on which team make the next big performance gains. Even then, one stupid mistake at this level and you lose the race, even if you do have the better boat.

Yup, they've ditched John Kostecki and got Ben Ainslie on board.
And the Kiwis nearly went swimming.....

Really? I was ready to write them off after race 7.
Now I'll have to check in the next few races.
