Oof. Such a vivid dream ...  my dear, departed friend Bob, at his memorial. Him, still alive. So lovely to see him, though I knew he was dying. And then, my former BFF showed up. Gah.

I was aware first of smells, actually aromas of coffee and the smells and sounds of an oil furnace rumbling away in the floor in the square hallway connection to the rooms in the house where I lived. It was Saturday morning and I knew that Mighty Mouse and Sky King would be on soon and that I would be breaking buttered toast up into my oatmeal. My inner self looked out and saw signs that my dreaming self couldn't imagine so that when music became the sunrise I realized what love must feel like in heaven and must sound like in the silvery silence of a profoundly deaf world.

oh wait! This is not a dream! My bad...

ok, it was less dramatic, or more maybe. I pulled up behind a roughly early 50s American car in  the driveway of a house I didn't recognize and got out to walk to the passenger side of that car and there stood my Father! I was stunned for a moment, then "Daddy! Where have you been! Has this all been a dream?!"

I awoke in a grieving sob and that was with me all day, and even now. It was him, but maybe 40. Can't say.

I dreamed I was with the president. At the White House. He was in whatever room he goes to, to enjoy some cookies and relax. I had some task to do. A small task. (I forget   what) He handed me a wad of papers with stuff he had written. He wanted  me to review it. He asked if it was enough. It told him it was plenty enough. Someone else was in that room, enjoying a cookie with the president. That person laughed. The president said that maybe I was lying. I assured him it was plenty enough.

(Especially considering I really didn't want to read through all that crap to start with)

(I blame this dream on Prodigal. That story about the kid who skipped school to go to the Cubs' opener warmed my heart.)

I was watching the sports news on TV. I may have been at a bar, but i'm not sure. It was about a Montreal Expos' game. The recap. Didn't look good. Bad throws. Bad relays. Obviously lost the game. But at one point the voice speaking (Expos' manager or owner, not sure) said, "Thanks Halifax (NS) for having us".

{#Eek}

I took a closer look at the background while they showed replays and sure enough i recognized it was Halifax. Dayum! I knew about the Expos coming to Halifax but i totally forgot about it! {#Doh}

And to rub salt into the wound, i was in Halifax watching the TV. I felt so depressed. I left the place and the weather matched my mood: pouring rain and then hail! I was so brokenhearted i wanted to cry. {#Sad}

Maybe the dream i had last night is just coincidence.

I opened the door leading to the porch. Our cat Lulu was there and there were 3 wolves at the bottom of the steps. White wolves. Lulu turned and came inside the house. The wolves started coming up the steps to follow her. I would have nothing of that.

The dream then shifted to the back of the house. The wolves were now in the woods. I did my best to scare them away. They left, albeit reluctantly.

Last night/early this morning I had a series of odd disjointed dreams. Flying skate boards off of tall buildings that doubled as ramps, looking for a lost dog in Mexico, being under water yet able to breathe and an ex trying to set me up with her roommate.

Had this dream last night. Way out of left field.

SFW was opening a saloon. Yup, just like those old western-type bars with the swinging doors. Everybody concurred, not a good idea. Won't get off the ground.

But it was a success. And every customer that entered the saloon, always greeted everyone with either a "Howdy" or "Hey Pardner". And it was a heartfelt greeting.

(Told you it was way out of left field)
