That tiny spot o' green in the NW corner is the Yellowstone grizzly range. My point is that "there" used to mean a whole lot more of the country, which is the problem. The population of griz has exceeded what the land they're inhabiting can realistically support.

Talk about mixed feelings. They're cool to see but are super pestiferous. No more tent camping or wandering alone in the woods. They don't really make themselves scarce when humans are around, the way they would if they were truly wild. We've been relocating problem bears for decades; take them 1000 miles away and they'll be back home in a month.
I really don't want them hunted but if there were another way to sting 'em a little and deter them from being attracted to the low-hanging bipedal meat snax, I'd be all for it.
They were there before us; we're invading their space. I get your dilemma, but I have absolutely no tolerance for trophy hunting, either.

What is it like to live in a rural Kenyan village?
Our travelling bureau BBC Pop Up visited the village of Nyiakiambi to talk to residents about the satisfaction they find in farming, visiting friends and listening to the radio.
BBC Pop Up has been in Kenya for the past several weeks, covering stories recommended to them by their viewers.
I got some unbelievable, exciting, life-changing health news as a result of some biopsies. I still can't believe it, it just hasn't sunk into my brain through the layers of iron filings and bear grease.
If you smear that all over your body, it will retain heat and you could be OK in Alaska or you could get a job stocking beer coolers.
