Castro has been a presence all my life, others on the world stage have come and gone but he endured. Thanks for nothing Fidel. Like the 1979 Iranian revolution Castro's revolution was at first seen as a good thing, the people rising up and taking control. Then when you saw the replacement, damn, the people lost again.

Because Gus probably still has a few friends here who haven't migrated elsewhere, this news should probably be posted here.
Gus is gone. Liver cancer, probably, at only ten years old. We're heartbroken, but he had a great run in his world full of fun, friends, and adventuring.
