  now THAT is funny....and i have to wonder how many christians who celebrate easter even stop to wonder why they hide colored eggs, or have baskets full of candy and treats, and encourage their children to believe in a magical bunny rabbit!

In ancient times, Pagan rites of springtime focused on re-birth, new growth, and renewal of the earth in general (and thus the bunny and chick and egg symbols). Then Christians came along and made it a celebration of death and resurrection.

At this time of year, I always reflect on the concepts of death/resurrection/rebirth....and how those cycles happen over and over and over in our lives. Phases of our lives that involved certain friends, certain jobs, pets, living in certain locations, certain significant others——they come to an end. Sometimes it feels like an abrupt & tragic death, sometimes it is simply a quiet passing/transition as though in Hospice. Maybe a part of us dies with that phase.

But we always rise again, and a new cycle begins. And that is the sheer beauty of it. Here's to your next resurrection & the miracle of rebirth.  {#Cheers}
