My mom did it but she did live in Chicago for quite a while.  I probably still have the pans around here somewhere in one of the boxes of stuff I have no use for but can't throw away.

It's pretty popular in the Cleveland area.  Usually with a coconut type icing, to make it look "fleecy".

I went out with a girl all thru high school and it was a big deal for her family.  Along with a creamed potato dish that was great but I never got the recipe for.

we never had one in OUR house, but my ex husband's family had one every year...and lots of my friends had one every year...so, it was odd to me that schlabby had NEVER heard of it, nor ever seen one....so....i was curious.

Hah!

Mrs. Islander's mom is suddenly very concerned that we aren't going to church on Easter (never have, and her family never did either). After much back and forth on the subject she relented, but said "you should at least get a ham".  I'm not sure if it's bad or awesome that church services can be traded for pork on the Karma point system.

now THAT is funny....and i have to wonder how many christians who celebrate easter even stop to wonder why they hide colored eggs, or have baskets full of candy and treats, and encourage their children to believe in a magical bunny rabbit!
