I like those answers. Not so thrilled about the questioners.

I think both sides of the aisle are going to be sorely disappointed by Ms. Kagan. Which is the best possible reason I can think of to appoint her.

The past few rulings by the Court have been so bad, I hope she leans the court a little in a more liberal direction.

It's funny really that you have a supposedly secular society where the state is strictly separate from the church whereas we have a an official religion and the queen is head of the church of england and of our state.  However the reality is that religion as virtually no influence over here whereas you have plenty of constitutional issues with religion.  I guess it reflects the realite politique- religion is just far bigger on the ground in the US than it is over here.

I think that religion is a slippery slope created by men, and often the practice thereof being responsible for driving people
away from attempting an understanding of The Creation  and our part in it, rather than drawing people in. Still, there is much
more to the question than culturally driven political hand wringing can find answers for.

Henry VIII solved the whole "too much influence from the Roman Catholics" thing for us.

It's really hard to say how much it comes into play, but having a majority of Catholics seems like it would be an influence. The same can be said about male/female ratio.
