And unlike many nearby towns (cough Pittsburgh), the fans were very friendly and welcoming.

It was the one where you either walk out of or get rolled out under a sheet. More amazing is that only 20% with my flavor of cancer make it past 5 years. RPeeps were so instrumental in seeing that I made it and walked out upright into the sunshine. Thanks to all who are still here and to those who have moved on. Just went and looked at my journals to see if I wrote one that was about going into the transplant. I guess I did. Brought back a lot of memories. I guess that's why you write them, for days like this. Clicky if you like

Today is my in-laws' 38th anniversary (and yes, I've been alive longer than they've been married ... hush!) and I had to share these photos from their wedding day that I scanned tonight because they are just too cool for school. And yes, my F-I-L is the doppelgänger of the dude from Alabama (the band). That outhouse is still there but has been a functioning bathroom with running water, a toilet, and sink for years. They still live in the house that my husband's great great great (? ... honestly, I can't remember how many "greats" should be there) grandfather built when there wasn't indoor plumbing and this was the original outhouse (there was an addition built onto the house many, many years ago with another bedroom, utility room, and bathroom). He was a medic and cook for the cattle drives to the train station, which took 3 days, one-way, but is only a 30-minute drive these days. Cool story, huh?
