This is a cop-out statement. Saying all presidents (at least in our memory) are assholes only serves to suggest that Trump is just another asshole in a long line of assholes and therefore he's no worse and blah blah blah.
Trump is absolutely the worst president in my life's memory going back to John Kennedy, and given I bother to study history once in awhile, one of the 2-3 worst ever. And his inept contemporaries on that list didn't have worldwide, 24X7 instant communications and massive nuclear arsenals. That alone puts him at the top of my Worst Ever list. It's not even that his heart is in the right place but he's just "new to the job", or that he means well but just likes to kid a lot. He's an intellectual fool, self-absorbed with the image he created of himself, and used to getting his own way, ethics, laws and common decency be damned. He could give a flying fuck about the rest of us, as long as he gets what he wants.
We've handed this dangerous maniac the keys to the greatest country ever devised by man, the most powerful and world-threatening arsenal of weapons ever created by man, and unchecked authority to send atomic weapons thousands of times more potent than Fat Man & Little Boy that could, in fact, set off a chain reaction of events that would make The Road seem like a child's fairy tale. Civilization-ending inhalation. I'm not being verbose - this is a real thing, has been since the '50s. Every president since Eisenhower knew this and treated the prospect with is due reverence, "assholes" that anyone may have deemed them to be.
