I recently did an application for. One part of the "rules" was about a post employment drug test. I thought that as random. Thats the way I'm reading the latest. But congratulations! Which brings me to this question: How much is "often enough to worry about a test? Any and all answers are welcome!

The saddest part is that you almost make sense!
The saddest part is always the sweetest... goodbye, sam. Goodbye. Don't bother looking for me for I'll be far away by the time you read this.

Indeed. We are on the front lines of white collar outsourcing. It's a real problem: I would not recommend going into engineering anymore. And we wonder why science and technology is falling behind? We've sold it all away. Doctors are not far behind.
When I graduated in '87, taking a test was a given. It was a simple fact that a newbie was not gonna get hired without one. Now, I like to think I would stand on principle. But I'd really rather not have to test my resolve...

Looks like it will all work out. I told them I'd only take a drug test if and when we agreed to further employment. The hours in question have been approved and I should be getting a paycheck in the next week or so. The firm I contracted through is still saying I need to take the test, but they say that is because there is further work. I haven't found anybody at the company I contracted to that has a requisition out. We'll see what happens next...

To me, the really harmful things are the prescription medicines that people can get addicted to nowadays. I've had two people in my family get addicted to Lortabs (basically, legalized morphine) because doctors hand them out like candy. Luckily, both of these people are now off of it, but it's put my family through 10 years of hell. Doctors that over-prescribe such dangerous medicine should be locked up in prison, in my opinion; they're no better than the drug dealers selling crack out on the streets.
Considering how hard it is and how many hoops have to be jumped thru to get effective pain meds to a cancer patient, I gotta wonder how a doctor gets away with pill pushing. The feds can squash a doctor like a bug for that.

They developed a "matrix of harm" to classify 20 different drugs. From Bristol University: (click here)

I'm guessing you're looking to collect a fair sum of money. The work has been done, the contract was fulfilled, payment is due on demand. No drug test, no bullshit, its pay up and then you politely part ways without the need to look at your urine. I can't even imagine what the company lawyer was smoking when they thought this up, maybe he needs to be tested. I'm sure you would want to distance yourself from a company trying to diddle their contractors, no one needs that shit. You know a lawyer, everybody knows a lawyer, ask 'em to draft you a letter demanding payment on letterhead. Sometimes thats all it'll take to get your money, my attorney is bigger than your attorney thing, let 'em fling their degrees around. Yeah so, good luck! By the way, if you want to try asking a bunch of people who might know alot about this, visit YaHooka @ www.yahooka.com/forums for all your uhhh, needs...
