Same here. Mine is about 100 years old and has a really nice vibe. No wierdies!

Here's kinda a reverse angle; I live in a 112 year old house and I have had absolutely no paranormal experiences at all! I actually find that stranger than most ghost stories!

I've got a ghost cat story also. When I lived in Phoenix my last house there was a 1917 Craftsman Bungalow I restored and lived in for 14 years. The first signs were that my 2 cats. Brewster and Rodent would sometimes when they were in the dining room would act like there was something there that was playful. They would pretend they were "boxing" with or swatting at an unseen cat and it was always in one corner of the room. Then sometimes out of the corner of my eye I would think I see a black and white kitty but if I tried to look right at it then it wouldn't be there. Over the years two different friends that didn't know each other each asked me if I got another cat, a black and white one. I'd say no and then they'd tell me they thought they saw one in my dining room. The house was built over a very shallow crawl space with no cellar. One day the sconce lights in the dining room shorted out. I decided to pull some new wires to them from under the house to replace the old cloth wiring going to them. When I crawled under the dining room there was a cat skeleton directly under the corner of the house where the ghost cat had been spotted. It must have crawled under the house decades ago to die, maybe after being hit by a car. There were traces of black and white fur still. This really happened just as described...

my brother and sister in law live in the family home, where my siblings and i grew up. 

my childhood cat still lives there, apparently.....a long haired, gray tabby ghost has been seen many times, running down the upstairs hallway, toward what was my bedroom.  i think it's pretty cool that he's still there....

(my sister in law didn't know about him...so she emailed me one day a few years ago, to ask if we ever had a long haired tabby when i was a kid!!)

Wow, you know, weird thing- I've never tried to communicate with it at all- it just never occurred to me. I dunno, I don't think I want to encourage more activity.

It was asleep for years and then we went on vacation this summer. My mother and her two sisters took over the house for a week and when we got home, the place was more active than it's ever been. It hasn't really let up much in the months since. I liked things better when whatever else inhabits this space went quiet.

I keep seeing a long-haired white cat. Sitting in the windowsill. Slipping under the coffee table. Turning the corner ahead of me. He won't show me his face.

Jeeze, I've only talked about this stuff with Greg and Mom lately. There's been so much activity in the last six months or so, that people would start thinking I'm a total wackjob if I told them. But you all already know that, so s'all good.

Have you tried asking it directly what it needs?  Or asking it to leave because its scaring you?  More often than not, they don't mean to and will listen if you ask them to stop.

Remember this: your mortgage company does NOT want your house. They have dozens and dozens of them that they can't sell and don't know what to do with. The mortgage company I am currently temping for is bending over backwards to help homeowners stay in their homes with re-fis, modifications, whatever... that is they are bending over backwards for the ones who call in, tell the truth and ask for help. The ones who don't communicate are treated as collection accounts, which they also do in house. Rather than going through an outside organization, don't forget to try you lender.  It may not work out, but it can't hurt to ask.  I mean it when I tell you they don't want to take your home.  It is not fiscally reasonable for them.  They make more money by keeping you in it, making your payments than they do by trying to resell a home that has been on the market as long as yours - which is exactly like the bunch they already have sitting around empty, collecting dust.

Any cities you like?  Maybe it's time to be amongst some people.

On one of Art Bell's Coast to Coast they had one of his many theoretical physcists who would describe instances of voices or visions being heard and seen like in your yard or around the house that he theorized might have been different dimensions overlapping occasionally into ours. Interesting thought.

Right now the 2 things that scare me the most are:

1) The fact my cancer (or a new one) may be back as my quarterly x-ray last week of Dec shows something new going on. Just waiting to be scheduled for biopsy.

2) The fact I can't afford my house on my disability pay and I go about $300-$400 negative each month. Already blown through my savings, sold my 2nd car, sold 80% of my antiques and furnishings and now selling rest of my stuff on ebay to try and keep up. Can only keep that up a few more months at best. This is scary to me as I have always had a good job and pay and always had a great credit rating. Now I can loose my house, the $100k plus of my own money I put it in, my credit rating etc and have no place to live etc. I've had the house on the market for 3 years and been through 4 Realtors and no interest at all even at rock bottom price. I just got turned down for the 3rd and final time for a Fanny Mae hardship refinance and Wells Fargo who holds my current mortgage won 't help either.

Do you have an old house? Do you take too many drugs?

The ongoing haunting of my house, which isn't always in itself scary but can be startling and unsettling at times. Today, for instance.

I haven't been totally alone in the house for the last few weeks and this afternoon was one of those periods when I was. I went into cleaning mode but before I did, I turned on a dumb little "screen saver" on my TV of a babbling brook in a winter storm. The "soundtrack" for this was, of course, the sound of water, but also, more creepily, the sound of howling winds.

I'm standing at the sink washing dishes, where I can SEE the damned TV, and I'm thinking about what a creepy sound that was. It was getting into my head a little, I'll admit it, despite knowing what the sound was and its utterly mundane source. But if I'm not LOOKING at the TV, it's really just a creepy sound going round and round in the surround sound system, right?

Halfway through washing the sink of dishes, above the howling wind sound, I hear someone very distinctly say, "Hello??"

I slammed off the running water, jumped on the mute button and then just stood in the living room, listening hard. No one. I go to the door, thinking that maybe someone is on the porch trying to get my attention, and there's no one. Peek out the front shades for cars in the driveway- no one.

Not a common occurance, but something that happens now and then. And it could have been my imagination, too...

When was the last time you applied?  For us, they put us in a different program each time.

They say I am still making to much money to qualify though its just disability pay and nothing additional. They also say my house is worth to much more than the loan to qualify and they say my debt ratio would still be to high. Even if I had qualified it would have still tanked my credit rating as it gets reported same as a short sale. And you have to pay Federal Tax on the money you save each month as its considered extra income.  I'll look at that 2nd look program, thanks...
