I know this. It's been years since I've cried at the ringing of the phone, but I remember it.

I love that sense of unwavering confidence. Thank you.

And....I know how you and bokey feel about not feeling yourself anymore. I was that way toward the end of my last few months with Mom. (And I didn't have it NEAR as bad as you two) Thanks to siblings and her long-term care insurance, things are going well for her, and I am feeling my sunny self again.

One day, you guys will too.

That's how it happened for us... one night about 11 PM on the evening we had taken Megan back to college after a summer break, we got a call from a paramedic who had her in an ambulance. She had been riding her (brand new) bike across the street in Houston and was hit broadside by a car that ran a stop sign. She'd gone up onto the hood and had lodged in the windshield. Most. Horrible. Call. Of. My. Life.

(The second and third most horrible calls I had to make were to tell her grandparents, "Your grandchild's been hit by a car.")

well, yeah.  if a doctor or nurse had called, P would have been driving to the hospital.

So last night, I could not remember anyone's names.  Club members who I've been working with for years.  People who I see regularly on Facebook.  I kept drawing a blank when addressing someone.  It scared the crap out of me!!  I mean, I know I have a few memory glitches, but this was so dramatic.

I hope I get senile enough to not know that I'm senile.

You're not senile, it's just that your "hard drive" is filled up with other things that are taking precedence. When your head isn't so full, the names will come back.

I have nothing against capitalism and prosperity, just against those who make their wealth off of other people's backs, and don't give back.
