We have two plants in a large pot, hopefully we'll have better luck than on our first attempt several years ago. They seem happy, no fruit yet.

We had planned to plant our tomatoes on Derby Day, but we had a small party that day, and didn't buy the plants until yesterday. Planted them as soon as we got home. One German Johnson, one Margold, one Sun Gold, and one Supersweet 100. Those should produce enough for the two of us.
We have neighbors who share, too, if we run low.

good job! you can also just bag em whole and toss them in the freezer if you have the room and no time to process. when thawed, the skins slip right off.

I actually managed to harvest some tomatoes this year. The catch is somehow I ended up with a bunch of cherry tomato plants and a few romas. The plants are looking ragged with the late season heat and some windy days of insufficient water. I'm heading out on a long leave next week so I picked what I could and canned 6 pints (ok I bought a bag of damaged goods tomatoes from the health food store to top up). There was no way I was going to take the effort to remove skins and seeds or even cut up all those tiny things so I just blitzed them in the blender and cooked down to about half volume. I think it worked out ok.
No pictures since I reckon you know what jars of tomato sauce look like.
