Well with the iPad and the iCloud I considered buying some music from iTunes.

So I settle on Vince Gill's newest "Guitar Slinger" iTunes wants 11.99 for it. Before buying I check Amazon - they are selling the CD for 8.99 and the MP3 album for 8.99.

So I checked several other albums that are listed in the top sellers.

Ambition by Wale - iTunes 13.99 Amazon CD 9.99
Under the Mistletoe by J. Bieber - iTunes 14.99 Amazon CD 11.99
For the Record by Mirand Lambert - iTunes 13.99 Amazon CD 9.99

I can get a physical copy of the album that is mine with higher SQ for less - where is the incentive to use iTunes?

thats maybe why they push the gift cards so much...forces the kiddies and teens who get the cards to use itunes to get their tunes, instead of cheaper alternatives.

They offer a lot of free songs and albums too. I am really surprised sometimes how much cool, free stuff they have and I also love being able to buy individual songs. I am sure itunes has that capability as well, but I will never know firsthand I assure you!{#Lol}

For awhile Amazon was offering new releases for the ridiculous price of $5 for a download, but they don't seem to do that any more.

Amazon is giving itunes a run for their money. If you download, the files go "into the cloud" and then you go to your cloud to download them to your computer. So then you can listen to them from anywhere, including your phone.

since you've had problems in the past with burning failures, it's best not to.

Too "whitebread" most of the time for my liking. But that's just me.

They rejected all my John Frusciante & Captain Beefheart (to name but a few) which hurt my feelings. I tried the Beefheart upload before his passing on so I was not trying to cash in on the death of "celebrity" either.

So we buy stuff (songs, apps etc) from the iTunes store a lot. In fact they're offering the first Harry Potter movie now for $4.99 so we got that just a few days ago, no problems at all. Yesterday, we bought the Disc of HP7.1 and it comes with a free download, so we went to iTunes, punched in the download code and instantly got a Session Timeout. If you search "iTunes Session Timeout" you'll get a crap-ton of helpful suggestions with replies "It worked great! Thanks!" but I just spent 2 hours changing time zones, DNS settings, iTunes passwords etc etc. and none of it worked. There were also a lot of comments saying "be sure you're logged into the iTunes store" well duh, we just bought a movie and it worked so... well. *cough* we changed email addresses a month or so ago. We changed it at PayPal but iTunes still had the old account email. NOTE that this did not prevent us in any way buying and paying for purchases... but if we want something FREE we have to have it all squared away Once I changed the payment info to the correct email, it all went just fine. What a cluster.

No need to. You can get whatever you need for mahala - free ! Movies (obscure movies), music, apps, games, the whole trip. I-Tunes is a crock. Everything is copyright protected (not so with Amazon, by the way) but I don't buy from there anymore either. When I download now I don't download a song or album. I download the whole damn catalog, no strings attached.

Hm. If it showed up with iTunes 9 it's not a hardware problem. I guess I don't have enough info.

  Thanks for your interest in my problem.
  I believe that it is solved now.I am now listening to RP via Octoshape in iTunes again.
  My salvation TECH TOOL. It has been said that Macs don't crave defragmentation,not true.
  I have seldom seen such a screwed up hard drive before.
  I have done everything that TT offers and now I have a faster Mac Mini than it was from the very start.
  Took me aprox. 6 hours
  So for any one that has a faulty iTunes 9 this is a way to fix it.
  I don't know yet if everything in iTunes is working as it should but so far so good.
  On other topic,,
  Anyone that has the octoshape link working in FStream ? {#Ask}

tomorrow don't have that much music or other stuff on this machine so I might just trash all and make a new install.And this time not go for iTunes 9.
