Brief anecdote. When I was in the 9th grade we had an exchange student from Argentina who was a soccer wizard and dribbled circles around all the boys on the intramural field. He was just amazing and impossible to defend against, such were his skills. He suffered some taunting and abuse from the usual a-holes in this setting, and learned plenty of vulgar Americanisms popular among the immature, but he was a really cool guy, and was my first real experience with a person from another country...

I'm watching the Vanier Cup (Canadian University Super Bowl). Laval Rouge et Or against the Western Mustangs. As the first half ends, they interview Western's coach. Below they display this stat: Mustangs are 10-0 when leading at the half. Talk about a useless stat. The Mustangs haven't lost a game all season.

Playing in the final of the Copa Sudamericana was to be the highlight of a glorious season for the team from the small city of Santa Catarina, which has fewer than 200,000 inhabitants.

Founded in 1973, the team has only been playing in Brazil's Serie A since 2014 but is currently ranked ninth ahead of much more famous and established teams such as Sao Paulo, Fluminense and Cruzeiro.
