My grandfather (moms dad), who served in the Navy during WW 1, lived on beer and cigarettes the last 3 years of his life.
He broke his jaw, when a refrigerator door, on the destroyer he was a cook on, swung open in heavy seas and smacked him hard.
He never got it repaired correctly because they didn't know how back then.
My grandmother rode him about the beer drinking. His doctor told her to let him be. He was 84 and his health was going quickly.

• You can shake up your religion, and it won't explode.
