Looks like a common buzzard, a type of eagle found throughout South Africa. They can be seen at Kruger park.

This Black Swallowtail 'pillar was just plucked off my parsley patch barely two weeks ago, put in a jar on my kitchen windowsill and immediately cocooned. Emerged in barely 12 days. I've had late summer cocoons last through the entire winter til spring.  This the shortest I've ever witnessed. Will never stop being amazed at this process.

We saw a large colony of the Flying Foxes in Adelaide this year. They are somewhat active during the day and they are noisy!
