I'm fine with sitar. Bring on a sitar channel! I've probably been weird that way pre-Harry Manx's mohan veena! Have even looked into checking out some concerts at our local Raga-Mala society.
Tabla (in excess), however, I'm not too keen on (same like excessive use of the snare drum!) - see my sucko-barfo ratings! NO ALL-TABLA CHANNEL. thx.
That guy owned & operated a recording studio in Santa Cruz when I was at KPIG. He tried really, really hard to get us onboard his genre-bending bandwagon, but never quite succeeded.

richard.pott693 Plant are (decades) past their sell-by date, but that's a lesser battle. At the last pre-Covid Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, the last performer I caught was this guy. Far past irrelevance.
Definitely no sitar crusade here. Perhaps you define âsitarâ differently than I do.
As for Robert Plant, I say he is an excellent example of an artist growing and stretching boundaries, as opposed to staying stuck in any particular genre. And heâs very talented and picks great musical partners. So yeah, youâll hear him a lot here.
RPâs playlist is always evolving and itâs inevitable that its evolution will not always please everyone. But Iâm always sorry to hear from people who enjoy RP less than they used to.
I hope youâll continue to check back from time to time. Perhaps our tastes will re-converge :-).
And, of course, as soon as I post this, a song with a prominent sitar riff starts playing on the Main Mix.
I have listened to, and contributed to, RP for a decade or so. Suddenly I am spending my time playing 'dodge the damn sitar'. That instrument is nails on the blackboard to my ears and suddenly appears to have become all-pervasive. Additionally Led Zeppelin/Plant are (decades) past their sell-by date, but that's a lesser battle. However irrespective of the above nuances, the mix has changed recently, and not for the better. I may be leaving RP, and I have been the biggest ambassador for the decade, but my appetite for the playlist is close to being a historic one. By 5c worth.
