And speaking of asshats ... NY Sen Schumer has requested more IRS action against the Tea Party saying the IRS has not done enough to them.

Groups like the Tea Party are "in limbo" because their membership keeps opening their mouths in front of cameras and reporters and showing themselves to be utter asshats.

From that same article:

"Over the two years between April 2010 and April 2012, the IRS essentially placed on hold the processing of applications for 501(c)(4) tax-exemption status received from organizations with "Tea Party," "patriots," or "9/12" in their names. While apparently none of these organizations' applications were denied during this period, only 4 were approved.<49> During the same general period, the agency approved applications from several dozen presumably liberal-leaning organizations whose names included terms such as "progressive," "progress," "liberal," or "equality."<49><50> (However, the IRS also targeted several progressive- or Democratic-leaning organizations for increased scrutiny, leading to at least one such organization, called Emerge America, being denied tax-exempt status.<48> Instructions to screeners obtained by The National Review obtained instructions to IRS screeners, and NR's reading of the instructions was that conservative and liberal groups were treated differently. The instructions stated that applications of tea-party groups should be sent "to group 7822" for additional scrutiny, but the National Review's interpretation was that screeners could approve liberal groups on the spot.<6>)"

That had the effect of muzzling those groups during the election. Many of those groups are still in limbo.

Rick Perry will not seek 4th term.  Which begs the question for the good folks of Texas; this means he was elected 3 times by the majority of voters in your state..........what is wrong with you people??!!{#Eek}

The gerrymandering that occurred in many states is what, obviously, has allowed the House to be Rep hands despite their candidates collectively receiving a million+ fewer votes than the Dem's.

I barely escaped being in Michele Bachmann's district by the whims of the census driven redistricting

For her many gaffes (which somehow translate into big donations from the rich wing-nutters), she should be awarded a plaque from the thread as well as daily recognition.

Q:  So where did Michele Bachmann hatch her fervid witch hunt against imaginary terrorist muslins in the Congress and the Executive branch?

A:  Apparently, on a plane ride to DC:

Bachmann fears a Huma!
