Yeah, not yet anyhow. I imagine it won't use obscure "crossword-style" or ScrabbleÂ® words, but I haven't seen any info on how it generates the word of the day. I assume it's a random, 5-letter-word generator and maybe they alter the word if it makes one that's too obscure.

Someone looked at the code on the page (pre-NYT) and apparently the list is ...just a list, generated by the guy and embedded in the page.
