ScottFromWyoming wrote:What's the point of a yield sign? I think they're for libertarians only, all others must stop. Because if something happens, the person with the yield is at fault no matter what. I mean, we have stop signs out in the open where it would be safe to proceed without stopping because you can see all around, but the city puts yield signs on tree-lined streets where you would normally stop even if there isn't a sign... because you can't see until you're up to the intersection. So they put a sign up so the city's not liable if something happens, and they make it a yield sign so there won't be an irate letter to the editor about the police state making people stop every 200 feet... But yes, at a roundabout, don't stop unless there's a car in the circle already. Got it. I think you're just observing the inconsistency in whatever process they use to place the things; I wonder the same thing around here. Stop signs are - I believe - simply ticket generation devices for cops because virtually no one comes to a complete stop at them and that's all the excuse a traffic cop needs if he happens to be there.

they took it out- i think its more of a mess now than it was with the circle. it used to be all farms right there when i was a kid. now its a big cluster f*ck. My husband & I both grew up in berlin -we started dating in high school. we'd go down to OC along the back roads, stop at WaWa to get a pack of Camels & some Yoohoo... ps 45 minutes from Tacony-Palmyra bridge— that's pretty good!
