Yes I do. It is what comedians do and was the inspiration for the joke; you think he just randomly decides to "trash" Puerto Rico for no reason and expect it to be funny? This dude is actually a good professional comedian that would make no sense. He correlated Puerto Rico as the famous floating garbage in the ocean because it literally is. You copin' dude. Hopefully his joke will shed light on the suffering of the Puerto Rican people and the corruption that added to it. Where did the money go? If you actually watched something other than State supported media you would know all of this and be informed as so many people are becoming as you all sit in your ivories towers oblivious to what is actually happening in the real world.
Unfortunately you do not know what the inspiration of his joke was unless he told you. And âNoâ I donât think he researched anything at all otherwise he (the comic) would have justified his joke or provided the basis for it given all of the heat he and the Trump campaign are (rightfully) receiving about it. I think he was playing to racist tendencies and thought slamming Puerto Rico was going to be funny. As other people have mentioned he is a roast comic but unfortunately he was not performing at a roast. The fact that no one from the Trump camp vetted his set before he delivered it is just a further confirmation of the ongoing sh*t show that Trump is the ring master of.
Oh, and your idea that his joke was somehow intended to shed light on the plight of Puerto Rico is wellâ¦
Polymarkets are completely unregulated. There are a lot of ways to manipulate them. The larger the play, the more incentive for shenanigans. I am really curious to see the variance in poling and polymarkets vs. the outcome next week.
a bet on trump is not a bad hedge against him winning, ha.

The guy's a roast comic (and sometimes kinda funny) but he wasn't good enough, or thoughtful enough, to deliver at something this big. A roast is a place where you know there are insults coming, and the laugh is at the mechanics of saying something so wrong. (Example: he tells a Jewish guy on stage that the only reason he goes to sports is for the coin toss)
Now is that what should be happening at a rally for the possible next President? I guess some vulgar adolescent bros thought so. Welcome to the future of Merica.
Go away! 'Baitin!
The crime isn't the joke, it's that the asshole they were there for doesn't have the sense to say "it's obviously a joke... a bit insensitive... but in no way represents the way I feel about PR".
Case closed.
Trump's just not that guy. He liked the joke, and doesn't care because half of the country thinks people are too sensitive. They are right that people are too sensitive, but their mistake is thinking that someone who can't navigate this should be POTUS.
Was there a grander purpose behind his joke about Latinos?
I can argue it is kinda racist to only think in terms of Latinos. An island full of garbage is an island full of garbage regardless of ethnicity. The joke was not a slight on Puerto Ricans but an observation of a people being screwed and need help. Now you can argue that this funny because its true joke was strategically ill timed but have you seen these roast comics? He is funny but should not have been there.

Perhaps.

You really think that the comedian did research for his poor joke?
...you might have a better career in comedy that he does.

Are you grasping how unhappy many women are at the loss of bodily autonomy? trump thinks roe is over, many women do not.
Abortion should be the hot-button issue for women and minorities because it shows rights can be taken away in the name of virtue or protecting the innocent. That fight ain't over although pro-choice women and their allies need to raise their voices more.
Personally, I'm a straight white guy and I'm sick of straight white guys trying to dictate to everyone else how they should live.
A large part of why much of the electorate is white-hot angry is because they believe the lies that Trump is telling them.
And angry suits them. They feel they should have more (without earning it - because "they" have gotten more without earning it! Welfare queens!) and T gives them a focus for their frustration: the others, like the devil left and the rapist mexicans and lying, lazy, colored Harris.
Tracy Chapman sang, "poor people gonna rise up and take what's theirs" and now we seen a subset of the GOP who think "look at all those rich Dems (like Pelosi!) so they must've taken what's mine!" and want to rise up and take what's "theirs". They're not noticing that Trump is asking them to send their pennies to him and Musk is the richest guy on the planet and Bezos is sucking them dry unnecessarily and...yeah...it's the penniless immigrants' fault their lives are going nowhere. Let's bitch about them and re-elect a loser that has absolutely no interest in the little guy, except for what he can squeeze out of him via steaks, mortgages, ice, vodka, hotels, casinos, wineries... Why are the biggest respected business moguls on the planet not seeking his advice?
Why are his former colleagues in the White House not endorsing him and even calling him dangerous to the USA?
Never mind that, brah. I drink liberal tears! That's all I care about this November. After that, the USA will be great again, according to what he promised.
