American Exceptionalism, according to ...

Ameritanity

Wikipedia

Dan Gilgoff, CNN.com Religion Editor

On the Commons

American Foreign Relations

A cursory reading of any of these shows a wide diversity of opinion. Is exceptionalism religious-based? Constitutionally founded? Held in the projection of American power abroad? Economic? Social?

Part of the discussion (battle?) may be over its very definition.

Exactly right except it's not "just" hundreds of millions anymore.

Right.  What does concern me is he will likely be less friendly with environmental issues...not that the dems are much better, but it is the one major issue I see where the two parties really do differ on a federal level.

This is true, but I think we have already flown the coop on that one and are screwed no matter what. If the environment is your concern, I see no other choice than the Green party and anyone who proclaims to be truly concerned about the environment and votes Democratic are either ill informed or clouded by other partisan issues cause inevitably as you said, Democrats are utlimately owned by the same corporations who rely on the status quo as the Republicans.

Romney now promising no abortion legislation...that may provide him with what he needs to win.  Romney is a product, and he will "reformat" his positions to create a product the public is willing to buy, like a CEO who changes styles as he moves from company to company.   I dont believe he has any personal agenda other than to be president - not sure if that is good or bad thing?

Right now the Republicans are in charge, and he will do whatever they want him to do.

Hw will also get to appoint at least one SC judge, who will then have the opportunity to throw over affirmative action, Roe v Wade, etc.

As I said, I really dont think he has a personal agenda, like getting rid of abortion, rounding up all the terrorists....
