in another study az used a meningitis vaccine as the placebo, but not here

at first i was sure i got the saline shot and i joked and complained to my family on the phone 

also i think the effects are not as pronounced with the az shot

will i get the pfizer or moderna vaccine in a couple of months when offered? yes

i'll take the second az trial shot mid january and monitor

every single person i've known including me operates out of greater self satisfaction and self interest

there's very little risk on my part and the potential benefit is worth it for me and for the study (win/win)

we've got pfizer and moderna approved and astrazeneca probably won't be far behind (and there are many others in the pipeline)

i wanted to get in on the moderna trial but that boat was full

the astrazeneca vaccine is probably the one that will be used by most of asia, africa and central and south america (rural areas)

from what i've heard the biggest reason being it only requires normal refrigeration and not extreme cold like the others

still a bit tired but i'm sure i'll be fine

currently they are supposed to wait two years before they can tell me if i got the shot (couple of silly reasons)

one of the questions that i asked over and over is it is recommended that i take the one of the other vaccines is offered by my doc/drug store

yes, we're not aware of any problem with that however we would recommend you wait 28 days after your second shot

why? as i understand it, the az shot is about 70% effective and delivered by a virus, the others about 90% effective and different (lipid) delivery
