Charlie had a similar reaction and his 2nd shot is Thursday... he's also not excited about that
I got my second yesterday, felt fine when I went to bed. But today my arm is pretty sore, and I feel like I have a low fever. Guess that means it's working. c.
Washington Post story today about focus groups of Republicans who are against getting a vaccine. Apparently, approximately 40 percent of Republicans have told pollsters they would not get a vaccine. The focus groups are trying to determine reasons for their resistance and what might possibly serve to overcome that resistance. Anyway, most in this particular focus group said that although they were not inclined to get a vaccine, they were interested in obtaining a false vaccination card that would allow them to claim they had received the shots.
And so it goes . . .
And in the same conversation they'll tell you that George Floyd et al ad nauseum should have followed directions.

The Nuge asks, "Why weren't there shutdowns for Covid 1 through 18?" âapparently as he was illâ then says "I thought I was dying" before admitting he's tested positive. Still won't get vaccinated tho.
Ugh. body aches and chills. No fever though. Symptoms are much like when I was infected. Annoying but not enough to skip work. Buzz is doing ok so far.
2nd shot this afternoon. Already told my team I could be out a day or two. Even if I don't have side effects! c.

Yep. No one I know or care about in this town hasn't gotten 2 doses and for the last few weeks, anyone who wants a shot can get one, it's wide open. So here in this county if you haven't gotten yours, I think I can safely assume you are on record as having called me a sheep or scared etc. and weren't going to wear a mask etc etc so
The problem is that the sheep are the only ones using logic.
We need to open schools, but we also need to have sports and activities with parents around?
We need to open businesses, but I have a right to not wear a mask.
The cure can't be worse than the disease, but I'm not taking a vaccine that kills 1 in a million, instead, I'll ride it out with a virus that kills 2 in 100?
In full disclosure...I wish I could just ignore the stupid...but eventually these A-holes are going to pass it around enough so that it mutates and comes back after you and me. We should require vaccination for anything non-essential....sports, concerts, air travel, restaurants, bars, schools (at least colleges)...and anyone that fears for their own safety can remain at home.
Everyone has a choice to not get vaccinated. What they don't have a choice about is putting you and me at risk.
BTW, the definition of a citizen isn't someone entitled to anything (other than maybe a vote...but let's not go there), it's a person owing loyalty to and entitled by birth or naturalization to the protection of a state or nation.
To your question earlier about the apparent disconnect between vaccination increases without what would be assumed logical decreases in infection...
People have decided to do everything they want again, and many are assuming they are less at risk because others are getting vaccinated. The problem with their logic is that the majority remain susceptible. More meals out...more shopping trips....more kids sports. The reality is that if we weren't 30% vaccinated, the numbers would be skyrocketing (assuming similar activity levels).
At this point...I'm done caring. My family is vaccinated, and we're staying away from public exposure when reasonable. No restaurant meals yet....no bars. If people without vaccinations want to party...go get 'em. Take your friends with you too. I'm too tired to fight stupid anymore.
Here in Germany I don't think it can be ascribed to behaviour. Without any evidence to support my seat-of-the pants analysis, I think it is the new mutations that must be playing havoc with the stats here in Germany. We remain in a soft lock-down (have been since .. whenever, was it November?) and, despite the vaccination program (admittedly kind of sluggish at being rolled out) we are about to enter a hard* lock-down as the third wave hits (defined as case numbers of 200/100,000 over the last seven days). I honestly don't see any change in social behaviour. In fact resistance to the lock-down has waned. Yet case numbers are rising rapidly despite the lock-down and also despite the roll-out of the vaccinations. .. ugh..
* not a huge difference between the two.. only essential services remain open in both but schools and kindergartens also close down under a hard lock-down.
