Likely true. Deluge is too strong a word, but there appears to be a trend due to the promotion of this, so far, ineffective drug.

Prescribing Ivermectin isn't helping either, but it isn't hurting very much.

Man has zero cred. A natural born liar.

Covid Deaths Surge Across a Weary America as a Once-Hopeful Summer Ends
Cases are starting to fall in some hard-hit Southern states, but nearly half of Americans are not fully vaccinated, allowing the Delta variant to persist. The summer surge has played out in a fatigued, politically divided country with no unified vision for how to navigate the pandemic. During previous upticks, the promise of vaccines led many to think that a return to ordinary life was perhaps just months away and that masking up or staying home was a short-term investment toward that goal. But the virusâs mutations and the refusal of millions of Americans to take the shots have dimmed that hope.

You're welcome.
For those incapable of clicking links: a booster shot is probably more useful for immunocompromised folks than everybody else. Antibody levels fall off over time unless the immune system is challenged. This is not unique to covid; have you ever gotten a tetanus booster? Had a shingles shot after having chicken pox as a kid? Same phenomenon. What is new is this particular virus and how our immune systems respond to both it and the vaccines. We're learning as we go. We don't know yet how soon vaccine immunity will wane to the point requiring a booster shot for ordinary healthy people, but we do know that there is very little downside to a third jab. It's a bet I'll happily make at my forst opportunity.
As for the second claim: the vaccines are less effective against transmission of the delta variant than the earlier strains, but not ineffective. And (as by now you may be tired of hearing, but apparently haven't absorbed) the vaccines are still very effective at preventing an infection becoming a case requiring hospitalization or causing death.
This latter point should be motive enough for anyone with an instinct for self-preservation, even if you aren't concerned about being a walking plague rat.

The whole premise of getting a booster shot of the same vaccine is because the original vaccines are not as effective against these new variants. That is the "official" story. Or did I get something wrong ?

No, just pointing out your spreading of misinformation.
If you're (really) so concerned or curious about a third shot, then you should be able find the answer from numerous trustworthy sources.
Why would anyone here need to convince you?

With all the great thinkers we have here can someone tell me why a third shot of the same vaccine is going to make me more resistant to the mutations that the vaccine offers little protection to in the first place ?
