I honestly don't know who is looking worse here, this is just another day for Trump in regards to behavior, but Warren is looking really shameless here and perhaps this will open some eyes to this. Seems she is making the same mistakes of appearing calculating and disingenuous that plagued Clinton.  She should of just apologized from the get go for making these claims and moved on and she would have looked a lot better imo.   But hey, partisans gonna partisan and they will take whatever math they can get.  She will lose no supporters because both Trump and Warren supporters are so partisan they are locked in regardless, but this is not going to win her any new friends.

Yeah...I kinda agree.  To go that route is another mistake that we can't afford to make.  I think we need fresh blood entirely.  I am sick of MOST of these old windbags making promises and getting little to nothing done while people like Trump and his followers seem to be the only ones marching ahead and trampling over the entire nation.  That whole Kayne West thing.  WTF, really?  I dunno, I remember in my 20's saying this country needs a revolution.  I am all for it but a little more apprehensive now that I am in my 50's.  I am not as strong and sure that it will be the right direction with the right people in revolt anymore. {#Sad}

Correction at the end of The Globe article:  Correction: Due to a math error, a story about Elizabeth Warren misstated the ancestry percentage of a potential 10th generation relative. It should be 1/1,024.

What a freekin joke. This is akin to a photo op.   I have more native American blood than that but do not consider myself a Native American for it would be insensitive at best and disrespectful at worst to true Native Americans to do so, but hey shame is not something that politicians are usually concerned with. {#Lol}

Electable? I have no idea. After the 2016 election, I'm not willing to trust my instincts (or any of the pundits) on that one.

I do think that she's starting a conversation that we need to have. The idea that Trump is the problem and everything would be OK if only Hillary had won is just as ludicrous as the idea that Trump is going to improve the lives of the suffering folks who were duped into voting for him.

If we're going to actually effect change, and keep this whole sorry mess from just melting down, we need to think way, way outside the Republican/Democratic & conservative/liberal boxes. Recognizing that letting a bunch of greedy fucks in boardrooms & CEO suites make all of the important decisions is never going to improve the lives of anybody except said greedy fucks — well, that's a start.

Wouldn't this is be a great fantasy scenario.

Warren gets the democratic nod and Trump manages to get thru the Republican primary.
They square off in the first debate.
Trump being Trump continues to call Warren "Pocahontas" as the debate heats up
Warren respectfully requests that he refrain from insulting her and her heritage and stick to the issues
Trump being Trump keeps up calling her "Pocahontas"
Warren, says excuse me, steps away from the podium approaches Trump and as he turns she belts him in the mouth
He goes down like a sack of potatoes and she stands over him and says "Go ahead, call me Pocahontas one more time!"

Now that would be great political theater. As mom always said the best way to deal with a bully is to fight back.

a lot of folks have good ideas (or what seem like good ideas)

I think she's fabulous - and shouldn't run for office. Just like I would've voted for Huntsman instead of Obama's second term. Too much baggage and noise that would prevent forward movement.

I really hope that out there somewhere is a secret meeting of centrists who have a platform and a candidate - and patience. Announce too soon, and there's plenty of time for the media to print lies and controversy. But, somewhere before 2020, they rise up and alienate the extremists on Right and Left, leaving those parties unable to get enough votes, and getting the "reasonable" members of the GOP and Dem party to coalesce into an agreement on someone righteous. Reasonable military. Health care. Education. Fiscal responsibility.

And that person puts their arm around Warren and takes her seriously.

I totally agree.  I DO, however think we would be in a much better place or at least on our way had Bernie gotten in there.  Maybe I'm gullible but something about him, speaks genuine to me ~shrugs~ {#Ask}

I've found Sen. Warren to be kind of annoying: a shrill by-the-book leftie & exactly the kind of candidate the Dems should avoid if they want to dump the Trump in 2020.

Then she starts making sense:  https://weeklysift.com/2018/08/27/elizabeth-warren-stakes-out-her-message/

This blog is excellent, by the way. A very coherent left-side-of-the-aisle perspective on the week's news. Worth checking out.

I haven't convinced myself that she's electable or will be able to rally the troops if she were elected, but I agree with your post overall.
