There was an article awhile back, about Donnie's 'tell'. Whenever he says something like 'They said "Sir, you paid tens of millions in taxes"' (as in the debate), the tell is 'Sir'. Whenever he says someone called him 'sir', it's a bald-faced lie. Not just an exaggeration or a little slip, but 100% made-up. Bullhockey. Horse chips.
The article writer examined endless transcripts and recordings, the poor bastard. He (or she) came up with hundreds of instances of his tell: 'Sir' means whatever he's saying has 0.00% basis in reality. I mean, even moreso than when he speaks normally. c.
What I found amusing (and frustrating_ is that no one pivoted on him regarding his taxes. He spent 2016 telling people he paid no taxes because he's smart...a great businessman. Then, it comes out that he only paid $750 for a couple of years. Last night, he talked about "pre-paying" tens of millions of dollars. It is a pointless fabrication.
Anyone who has withholding taxes technically "pre-pays". If you owe on April 15 the following year, you underpaid. If you get a refund, you overpaid. The IRS has rules around estimated payments (a few different thresholds). Prepayments or estimated taxes are just a deposit. If Donnie is a great businessman, he pays exactly the minimum to avoid penalties and interest. Since one of the thresholds for prepaying estimated taxes is 100% of the prior year...and since Donnie never pays very large amounts because he's so smart, he would never have to make large "prepayments".
There isn't a single comment Trump makes about his taxes that is correct. Even the returns themselves are a pile of lies. All of this will come out as soon as he's out of office...which explains the desperation.
