Radio Paradise

Yeah, I didn't see any specific commands but I don't know if I was looking in the right place. In any case, it's pretty intuitive & there aren't that many extra commands that I'm interested in. Would be cool if Alexa let you rate a song.

You need to have your account linked. Then "Alexa, ask Radio Paradise to rate this seven". You may need to play around with the wording a bit, & speak slowly. She seems to have trouble with some of the more complex commands.

Question: where are you finding the list of commands in the Alexa app? I don't see anything like that.

I think I used a menu option; there were just a few but I haven't explored it that much. I'm using an Android; I don't know if an Apple interface looks different.

Yeah, it will respond to anyone — including me — that says "Alexa". Kinda annoying, but you get used to it. Mostly you'll just get some kind of "I don't understand" message — but if I say the full phrase "Alexa, enable Radio Paradise" it could indeed enable our skill. I'd rather leave that for people to do themselves, if they want to.

And no doubt FM DJs are already on the case...

Why can't Bill say "Alexa" during the breaks? Is there a worry that would trigger people's Echoes? Are the things that easy to compromise, and if so why isn't every shitty FM morning DJ pranking people with this ability?

It works well. I had to find a different command to turn it off. "Stop music" just paused the stream - that used to stop the Tune-In stream. I had to say "Stop stream" to close the RP stream, no problem. The commands listed in the Alexa app all work well.

The coolest feature: "Alexa, skip". That jumps past the current song to the next song on the playlist.

More info is available in your Alexa app after you enable it.

We recommend linking the skill to your RP account (that's optional, but it allows additional features — including more to come on our new website). Just follow the instructions in the Alexa app.

but I don't have Alexa :(
