Are you lefties done with your screaming the lie about Trump being a racist yet? No? Well, be sure to leave enough time in your day to condemn Biden with at least the same vigor you are expending on Orange Man Bad.
Regarding transcripts ... I just heard a discussion about the Kennedy - Nixon Debates of which I was old enough to have watched and have a grasp of the importance of the event having already participating in the "Duck and Cover" drills.
It was observed that if you listened to the debate on the radio, Nixon won. But if you watched it live on TV, Kennedy creamed Nixon.
A transcript is just words, without context other than their own meaning. The context of the speaker itself rarely translates.
There is no substitute for live television (other than an unedited copy of the broadcast).
You have become quite the condescending asshole of late.
Do I take this CV 19 shit seriously ? Fuck yes, dude. I just bought 400 disposable masks at Sam's Club @ $9 per box of 50. I still wear gloves with carts and pumping gas.
So either knock your name calling shit off, or fuck off ... your choice. "Diddims"
Language, darling, language!
Yes, I imagine you do take CV19 seriously. You have to in order to stay alive. But from what I've seen you will not acknowledge at all that Trump has tried for months to dismiss CV19 and also pass off responsibility for containment and testing onto the states.
You seemed strangely silent when Trump claimed that the coronavirus was going to magically disappear. Which is a bit odd, given the threat it poses to your life and the fact that Trump made that claim at least 34 times. Perhaps I missed your post/s that disagreed with Trump's pronouncements.
Since you seem engaged in our current affairs, can you tell us Trump's plans to contain the virus? To increase testing and reporting at the federal level? And what are Trump's plans to revive the economy and provide more financial help to individuals and small businesses? It looks to me like Steve Mnuchin is doing all the negotiations with Nancy Pelosi. Trump can barely talk about Covid19 and the economy.
Have I been condescending towards you lately? Probably. At this point I consider you and other Trump diehards a very real threat to American democracy. If Trump lost the election and refused to leave office, I think you'd tag behind your Drumpfer in perfect lockstep.
You wanted Trump to burn the house down. Well, he burned the house down. And now you have to wear masks and gloves all day long. You should acknowledge, if only to yourself, Trump's very real and very large contributions to our current crises.
BTW: IIRC I saw in one of your posts that you believed the word "dude" should only be used by people who surf or surfed. Check out the etymology of "dude" in your spare time: the word came about to describe people who had nothing to do with surfing. I think Teddy Roosevelt was called a dude by real cowboys.
Joe Biden: (01:20:49) There should be free, universal infant care, but hereâs the deal. I was a single parent too when my wife and daughter were killed. My two boys I had to raise. I was a young Senator. I just hadnât been sworn in yet, and I was making $42,000 a year. I commuted every single solitary day to Wilmington, Delaware over 500 miles a day. Excuse me, 250 miles a day because I could not afford, but for my family, childcare. It was beyond my reach to be able to do it and thatâs why thereâs several things we do.
Joe Biden: (01:21:22) When I tripled the amount of money for title one schools, every child three, four and five-years-old will in fact have full schooling. Theyâll go to school and after school programs, which will release some of the burden. Secondly, I think we should have an $8,000 tax credit, which would put 7 million women back to work. They could afford to go to work and still care for their children as an $8,000 tax credit. I also believe that we should, in fact, for people who in fact are not able to afford any of the infant care to be able to get that care. But Bernieâs right. We have to raise the salaries of the people who are doing the care, and I provide for that as well. My time is up. I know, but Iâm not going to go over like everybody.
I haven't read the full transcript of this debate, but I don't get the impression that Joe failed to convey his policy plans in the time provided.
Joe Biden: (02:01) First of all, my heart goes out to those who have already lost someone, or those who are suffering from the virus, and this is bigger than any one of us. This calls for a national rallying to everybody move together, and I laid out in detail what I would do were I president today. You can go to joebiden.com. I laid it out in significant detail, but there are three pieces of this. First of all, have to take care of those who in fact are exposed, or are likely to be exposed to the virus, and that means we have to do testing. We have to get the testing kits up and ready.
Joe Biden: (02:37) I would have the World Health Organization, Iâd take advantage of the test kits they have available to us, even though the president says a million or more are coming, letâs just get all the tests we can done as quickly as we can. Secondly, I would make sure that every state in the union had at least 10 places where they had drive-through testing arrangements. I would also at this point deal with the need to begin to plan for the need for additional hospital beds. We have that capacity in the Department of Defense as well as with the FEMA, and they can set up hundred-bed, 500-bed hospitals and tents quickly.
Joe Biden: (03:12) We have to lay all that out, but we have to deal with the economic fallout quickly, and that means making sure that people who in fact lose their job, donât get a paycheck, canât pay their mortgage, are able to pay it, and pay them now, and do it now. Small businesses be able to borrow interest-free loans. I see my time is up here. Youâre going to hold us tightly, I assume, but thatâs what I would do. Go to joebiden.com. It lays out precisely what I would do were I president today.
In a little over a minute, Joe provided more COHERENCE and policy specifics than Trump has over 6+ months. Joe called for testing by kits and drive-through spots, ramping up hospital bed capacity, and financial support for average Americans and small businesses. And he points the audience to his Website for a more complete layout of his plans.
But Trump told Kurt that the virus is going to magically disappear! And the economy's going to take off like a rocket! So Trump doesn't need to plan or act!
