...... Shown below is a wonderful young woman who appears to have gone through a similar metamorphosis. Whatâs critical to realize is that such @Walkaway videos will have 1,000 times more impact on center left folks than anything you or I can every possibly say to them will.
Interesting video karmakarma. Thanks for posting. I strongly sympathize with much of what she is saying. For one, there is much collective group-think and vacuous virtue signalling among those who identify as left of centre or progressive.
It is far harder for teachers to maintain order in the class room and elsewhere in schools these days. To make matters worse, some teacher unions are..... well, let me say that I have never observed so much hostility to a union in union-friendly British Columbia as I have observed towards the BC teachers union. I am talking about parents that are absolutely livid. And with good reason.
Lots of self-styled progressives and liberals in Canada have no understanding how their policies reduce economic wealth and thus the resources available to the state for redistribution. Few if any understand how their policies hurt First Nations.
That said, even on a good day, I want to treat western Canadian conservatives and Trump supporters as Neo-Marxists in the Baran-Sweezy tradition.
That said, this walk away nonsense strikes me as hyper-partisan and self-loathing in and of itself. She strikes me as yet another Exceptional American who has little or no understanding of how things could be different, how both politics and policies are different in other rich, western countries. She seems locked into a corrosive 2-party system perhaps largely due to a lack of education. She clearly lacks perspective on special interest group behaviour and politics. She fails to recognize that because of the US 2-party system, the Democratic Party is a big house with lots of diverse elements in it.
In another rich, western country, the Democratic party would not be one party, it would 2 or 3 separate parties.
This young women is not getting a pay check from Caracas. But she is acting as if she was a fellow travelling companion of radical Latin American left-wingers with their anti-freemarket capitalist and anti-American ideology. Like most of the Trump movement.
Lots of progressives and so-called 'liberals' have registered similar complaints to hers. Lots of union members and other pro-union folks have complained long and hard about the antics of some unions whether it is construction unions in the SW USA or the teachers union here in BC or the some of the public sector unions that organize Canadian federal government workers. (I was once upon a time a community organizer for the UFWA-AFL/CIO in Arizona.)
Yes, Biden, the socialist, went on attack with this tweet:
Jill and I send our thoughts to President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump for a swift recovery. We will continue to pray for the health and safety of the president and his family.8:45 AM · Oct 2, 2020
Which is worse? To say something nice being obviously disingenuous or to say something horrible and saying what you really think? I say yes. Dibs on how many people read this incorrectly.

With Trump testing positive 30 days before the election, I think that this would make for a good case against voting early.
While it is expedient, what if he dies ? With his age and all that we hear from the Media and here on the boards about CV 19, the old fat orange SOB is very likely a walking dead man now, right ?
An early vote will not be an informed vote, it will have been just an expedient one. Laziness expediency has its consequences.
There aren't a lot of un-made-up minds, but there is a case to be made for this.
Two days before a congressional election the Republican running for our lone US House seat flipped out and assaulted a reporter for the Guardian. He had the race in the bag, leading by 5-15 points or so depending on which poll you believed. His opponents were a banjo player from a beloved local country-rock band and a plucky Libertarian mailman/farmer—neither with any previous political experience. Probably 2/3 of the votes in the race had already been cast by the time the news broke.
He juuuust squeaked by. Had the assault occurred a week earlier he would have likely lost.
It wouldn't have changed my vote, I already had a candidate I liked a lot better. But it turned a lot of stomachs among his supporters, maybe enough to tip the balance.
If Trump croaks despite all the bleach and hydroxychloroquine we have mechanisms in place to pick a successor. The election will go on, country will survive.

The participants for the election are set. If you recall prior elections, there is that silly process of the electoral college actually voting. If Trump were to win while deceased, the electors and the process would become significant I guess.
The election will be between Trump and Biden...even if they're both dead.

the table has been set for an election buffoon-o-rama
absentee ballots and voting in person, especially early should be good
