The bowser launches quite briskly and memory usage is quite low. But then again, at this stage it is fairly bare-bones — no add-ons or plugins and such. It does introduce a new way to manage bookmarks and tabs and such, which one could get used to, I guess. What I really liked was the fleeting/ temporary status bar. That, combined with lack of toolbars frees up a lot of real estate on the browser. Also, a really cool "task manager" just for the browser and "stats for nerds" which shows memory usage and also shows usage of the other broswer open — FF in this case.
Not that I'm ready to switch just yet.

In my unprofessional opinion, it's fantastic. Faster, more stable, and handsome to boot.

Bad Google. Bad. Don'tcha know that early adopters are techno-geeks and We Don't Use IE? Noticed the same thing while installing - not nice. I'm quite sure they'll fix it soon though, FF should be offered according to the documentation. Other than that, I'm downright impressed, esp. by the performance.
EDIT: Installed Chrome on another machine, and FF was recognized OK. This could be related to where FF is installed (maybe has to be in the default path). One nuisance noticed: scrolling works only downwards - at least with Synaptics driven touchpads.

I'm downloading it now... installing in a few.

"Google announced their very own browser project called Google Chrome — an announcement in the form of a comic book drawn by Scott McCloud, no less. Google says Google Chrome will be open source, include a new JavaScript virtual machine, include the Google Gears add-on by default, and put the tabs above the address bar (not below), among other things. I've also uploaded Google's comic book with all the details (details given from Google's perspective, anyway... let's see how this holds up). While Google provided the URL www.google.com/chrome there's nothing up there yet."
