But Magpies is a good name for a footy team because maggies are aggressive buggers - known for attacking cyclists and school children during nesting season.  I have a piece taken out of my cycling helmet from a swoop.

I'm sure you are all eagerly awaiting the news that the 'Roos won decisively.

Most of last week's news, however, was about a 15 year old girl being escorted from the match for calling one of the Sidney Swan's best players an ape.  He is an indigenous Australian.  I think he and the AFL handled the situation well - basically saying that she needed education to understand why this was considered racist.  She called him to apologize.

And in other news that probably didn't get much play in the US, Nibali kicked some serious tail in this year's Giro.  The weather in the mountains was nasty and he rode an amazing race.

Well the North Melbourne Kangaroos lost by less than a goal after leading early, yet again.  At least it is good to have something totally unimportant in the grand scheme of things to whinge about.
