I'm not much for motor-sports, but watching those blokes is mesmerizing.

Simple: first the number of goals (ball kicked through the centre 2 posts without being touched after the kick) - 6 points, second the number of behinds (ball kicked through the outside posts or through the posts after being touched - also known as getting a point for missing ) - 1 point, third the total points. Like y'all don't have runs, hits, errors...

A good day at the tour for the Aussies with a stage win by Simon Gerrans. Much better than having your team bus come in first. It's great that they show the live broadcast, but it's too late for me so I've been watching the highlights. Too bad because it's always fun to watch the scenery and get the historical commentary.

Nice to have an old time rusty Stanley Cup.
Speaking of ice hockey, how is Sidney Crosby doing? Is the concussion still affecting him?

New South Wales wins 1st match in Rugby League State of Origin series... not that we care here in Victoria. There are 3 kinds of professional football played in Australia: Australian Rules Football (real footy), Rugby League, and Rugby Union. Ok, there's soccer too, but nobody really counts that. . Victoria, and to some extent indigenous communities in the Northern Territories are strongholds of AFL (go Kangaroos!) while Queensland and New South Wales are strongholds of Rugby League. I don't know who follows Rugby Union much except the cousins across the ditch in New Zealand. Every year the State of Origin series pits Rugby League players from Queensland against players from New South Wales. This is apparently a big deal and Queensland has won as far back as anyone can remember . NSW thinks this might be their year. So NSW won and no urine on the grounds was reported.
