I didn't get it until I remembered Old Mickey, a basset hound who would chase rabbits through briar patches when we were hunting when I was kid. Then memory served. Ouch.

 Maybe that deep rooted memory is the real reason I quit hunting. {#Lol}

However this person interacts with others in his "real" life, he acted like a jackass for the most part when he was here. It seems to be contagious. Some people take advantage of what they think is a captive audience to perpetuate they're own social dysfunction. He got validated just the way he wanted. Then he got bored. Likely he'll find a new way to deconstruct.
