It's easy being compassionate when it is happening somewhere else innit?

http://www.newsweek.com/canadas-new-immigration-problem-will-get-much-worse-once-snow-melts-lawmaker-572524?rx=us

"Canadians aren't happy about the sudden influx of immigrants, a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll released Monday found. Roughly four out of 10 respondents said mass illegal immigration could make Canada "less safe."

"There are so many people in the world who want to come in and go through the right channels," said Greg Janzen, elected leader of a Manitoba border municipality that has seen an increase in crossings. "That's what's pissing most people off. These guys are jumping the border."

Trump’s immigration crackdown is supposed to help U.S. citizens. For California farmers, it’s worsening a desperate labor shortage.

All we have to do is to give California back (at least from say San Francisco south, Emerald Triangle needs to remain with us) to its rightful owners, Mexico. Boom! Everyone is a legal citizen and Californian residents no longer have to put up with the United States. See? I am solutions oriented.

I guess my choice for clueless was interpreting RD's remarks that he thinks that among many other things regarding Trump that Trump is clueless.

Anyway ...

If it was the "second thing out of his mouth" last night, it was still preceded by Red Dragon's comment.  Unless the President has altered the space/time continuum I'm not seeing any "cluelessness" in that comment.  Last night was the first time the President had publicaly referred to the attack; the attack happened last Wednesday.  Obviously, Sean Spicer had referred to it earlier though, in the capacity of the White House spokesman, so it's not as if the WH ignored it.

I can't keep up with this idiot's weathervane approach to policy. Is the Wall no go now? Did Trumpers watch a news segment that changed his mind? Did someone reduce his medication to safer levels?

Or is he just talking out his ass, as usual?

Until some actual policy gets on the table this is as credible as his chants of "lock her up!"

Trump Says He’s Open to Legal Pathway for Undocumented Immigrants

WASHINGTON — President Trump, signaling a potential major shift in policy, told news anchors on Tuesday that he is open to a broad immigration overhaul that would grant legal status to millions of undocumented immigrants who have not committed serious crimes.

...

A move toward a comprehensive immigration overhaul would be a dramatic turnaround for the president, whose campaign rallies rang with shouts of “build the wall!” on the Mexican border and who signed an executive order last month directing the deportation of any undocumented immigrant who has committed a crime — whether or not they have been charged — or falsified any document. The standard could apply to virtually any one of the estimated 11 million people in the country illegally.

...

The president’s remarks about immigration came the day before Mr. Trump was to issue a new version of his executive order banning travel to the United States from seven predominantly Muslim countries and suspending the acceptance of refugees. The ban has been revised because of legal challenges.

I'm sure it will beautifully complement my (stolen from the SB) Tom Brady jersey.

(It doesn't surprise me that Tom is a Trump friend/fan {#Rolleyes} because professional athletes typically aren't that knowledgeable about the world outside sports. But Belichick should know better. I have no idea what Robert Kraft's excuse is, apart from some increasingly noticeable senior moments).

It really is f$%*ing shocking that our president is getting policy cues from cable news and FOX segments he's just watched. You'd expect Jimmy the lush at your local watering hole to parrot everything he sees on TV, but I think we all grew up hoping that our presidents were a cut or two above the Average Guy.

Welcome to the Age of Diminished Expectations and Trainwreck Leadership.
