Iranâs Supreme National Security Council, the Islamic Republicâs top security decision-making body, announced that ânegotiations will begin with complete distrust of the American side on Friday, April 10, in Islamabad,â with 2 weeks allocated for talks to finalize the details of its 10-point demands and codify them into a binding UN Security Council resolution â which the Council says would make the agreements âbinding international law.â
The council released a statement Wednesday morning outlining what it claims are the terms America has accepted in principle, and what Iran is formally emphasizing.
Trump, in a post on Truth social, wrote that Iranâs 10-point proposal constitutes âa workable basis on which to negotiate.â
ð¢ Here is what Iranâs Supreme National Security Council claims the U.S. has âfundamentally committed toâ:
ð¸ Guaranteeing non-aggression against Iran
ð¸ Continued Iranian control over the Strait of Hormuz
ð¸ Accepting Iranian uranium enrichment
ð¸ Lifting all primary and secondary sanctions
ð¸ Ending all UN Security Council and IAEA Board of Governors resolutions
ð¸ Paying war reparations to Iran
ð¸ Withdrawing all U.S. combat forces from the region
ð¸ Halting the war on all resistance fronts, âincluding against the heroic Islamic resistance of Lebanonâ (Hezbollah)
ð¢ Later in the text, the document states that Iranâs formal 10-point demands, submitted via Pakistan, âemphasizedâ:
ð¸ Controlled Hormuz passage coordinated with Iranâs armed forces, which it notes would grant Iran a âunique economic and geopolitical positionâ
ð¸ The ânecessity to end the warâ against all Resistance axis factions â fronts listed in the document include Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, Palestine (occupied territories) â described as the âhistoric defeat of the child-killing Israeli regimeâs aggressionâ
ð¸ Full withdrawal of U.S. combat forces from âall bases and deployment points in the regionâ
ð¸ The establishment of a Strait of Hormuz safe-passage protocol âguaranteeing Iranâs control according to the agreed protocolâ
ð¸ âFull compensation to Iran according to assessmentsâ of war damage
ð¸ Lifting of all primary and secondary sanctions, and resolutions of the IAEA Board of Governors and Security Council
ð¸ Release of âall blocked Iranian assets abroadâ
ð¸ Finally, all the terms above codified in a âbinding Security Council resolutionâ â which the document says would turn the agreements into âbinding international lawâ and âan important diplomatic victory for the Iranian nationâââââââââââââââââ
ð The Council states that if the âenemyâs battlefield submissionâ is not translated into a âdecisive political achievementâ in negotiations, Iran will resume fighting âuntil all demands of the Iranian nation are metâ â adding: âour hands are on the trigger, and the moment the slightest error is made by the enemy, it will be answered with full force.â
Yeah. the right was always batshit crazy about communists and socialists - and who actually destroyed the country was a "businessman" and the Republican Party.
In addition to the humanitarian catastrophe, this will be a PR disaster for us. I'm still in shock that we are here. If this happens, the soul of this country is lost.
Trump has destroyed so much and his base is so focused on meme's instead of reason and logic, that any attack on the infrastructure at scale gives Iran the moral high ground... which was for decades inconceivable.
The visualizations of the US decline following the start of the Iran war will be alongside Minard's flow map as the dumbest mistakes in history....
Nah it's gone already. Will take a generation before our kids can hold their heads high. edit: That's assuming he gets hit by a bus today. The longer he stays there, obv. ...

President Donald Trump has continued to describe the war against Iran as an unqualified success, saying as recently as Monday that the United States was doing âunbelievably wellâ while Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Tehran had been âembarrassed and humiliatedâ by U.S. forces.â
Globally, how about starting with a UN resolution?
Generally, any war of self defence and by extension, assisting nations in their own self defence from illegal aggression.
And for the US specifically, you also need approval from congress.
The attack on Iran has none of these features.
The semantics of SMO is just bullshit.
Isn't illegal aggression semantically the same as war ?
If not, what is the difference ?
And does not self defense mean that someone is at war with you already ?
