I remember the song, just not that guy. was it a standard song from the 40s or 50s or something?

I'm pretty sure he wrote it and his is the only version of it I can remember which is probably a good thing.

As far as I remember, he wrote that tune (I'll check: I actually have the single somewhere).  He did do a cover tune as his follow-up, which I think may have been a Gilbert O'Sullivan tune, but I don't know if we want to get into his catalog of hits here. {#Stop}

*edit: I see you looked him up before I posted

This is another tune that's so bad, that I like it in a morbid way:

Aside from working as an engineer with The Beatles, Norman "Hurricane" Smith produced Pink Floyd's first four albums.

I wonder what Simon Cowell would say if he performed that on the X factor??{#Eek}

It's scary how easy it is to want to sing along with that tune.  You and I are surely not the only ones who remember some of those lyrics.

Most of the songs listed, (with one or two which shall remain unmentioned) do have a sort of a special place for me too.  "Cheesy" doesn't necessarily always mean "bad".

As I do with many of the Top 40 hits from '57 through '67 (at which point I left permanently for the FM band).
