Yep, that is exactly what the pizza shop owners. This event was no accident. They staged if for the pure purpose of raising money. Those damn lying, cheating, hating radical Christians thought all this up and even went as far as having a male Negro put up the go fund me page to sink the hook. I bet they even paid people to make phony death threats for further dramatic affect.
Good luck with your project. Ton's of money to be made !
We need to coordinate on the TV interview where we will say "We know that God(tm) doesn't want people drinking on the Sabbath, so it is clear that it should be extended to any day with an S. We won't be forced to cater to those heathens who can't respect our beliefs". Then we coordinate twitter attack on our good name, set up a gofundme page and profit.

Now that I think about it this would actually tend to disguise its religious motivation and allow it to blend in with the rest of our byzantine and unfathomable liquor laws. It could end up being a very risky strategy.
Washington (CNN)Indiana's social conservatives wanted a law that insulated them from the gay rights movement. Instead, the state has now enacted protections based on sexual orientation for the first time in its history.
Top Indiana Republican lawmakers overhauled their week-old religious freedom law Thursday with a follow-up measure intended to ease concerns driven by businesses that it could lead to discrimination. Gov. Mike Pence then signed it into law.
The changes appear to have tamped down some of the criticism — but in doing so Pence and lawmakers infuriated social conservative activists and set the stage for a bigger fight next year over expanding Indiana's anti-discrimination law to cover gays and lesbians.
I think you may be on to something here. I'll get to work on a letter to my representative right now.

It appears that reverse psychology works well in your state. Let's instead plan a bill to halt beer sales on any day that contains the letter 'S'. After a little reflection the resulting uproar should usher in Sunday beer sales with no problems.

I would like to offer the rest of the nation my heartfelt thanks for this too. We could never have done it without you. Do you think you could anything about getting us Sunday beer sales next?

Ahh, I didn't realize you had a copy of their financials. Do share.
And also, bully for them. They took a career ending gaff and turned it into a windfall. I hope they have good advisors now that they are the 1% (unless they were already - I don't know). I'm not sure how that money will be classified, I don't think it will qualify as Net Investment Income, so they can avoid the ACA surcharge, but they will definitely owe the medicare surcharge. Actually, if it is determined as income they would probably be better off with the NII + ACA charge. Oh well, nobody cares about their problems now that they are 1%ers right?
We I know nothing about their level of need, and if they need 400K$ $539k to offset losses from being threatened (with death) on the internet, then there are a whole lot of people in this world who are in need.
And I'm the one who is usually called cold blooded and heartless in these parts ...
There is at least one difference between charity and subsidies, charity doesn't come with strings attached or rules for giving (taking / taxing in the case of subsidies).
sub·si·dy
ËsÉbsÉdÄ/
noun
1.
a sum of money granted by the government or a public body to assist an industry or business so that the price of a commodity or service may remain low or competitive
Okay, I'll give you that it's not really a public body in any traditional sense. But that's a whole lot closer to what's going on than:
char·i·ty
ËCHerÉdÄ/
noun
1.
the voluntary giving of help, typically in the form of money, to those in need.

Charity is giving to those in need. I really don't think pizza vendors who don't know when to shut up really qualifies. Maybe they do on other fronts, but we'd have to see their financials to be sure. Regardless, this isn't charity by any stretch, this is giving to show support for those who share your ideology. If you cannot tell the difference at this point in your life, you must have missed something along the way, imho. But I'm really not surprised.

The right may be against subsidies, but are huge proponents of charity.

1 - the highly tolerant left came down extremely fast and hard on this place for a pretty minor, poorly timed blurt. 2 - the right, who are typically free marketeers, freaked when the free market essentially said 'no need for your pizza place'. Isn't this what they wanted, the right to be bigoted and let the market decide? 3 - the right, who are typically against subsidies, came out in force to give massive subsidies to the guy who f'd up his business in the free market by spouting nonsense not related to pizza.
Think of the pizzas!!! What is someone named "O'Connor" doing selling pizza anyhow?
