I still can't place the blue thing on the near corner. Assuming it's got a neck strap on it, that leaves just a few choices. I can't find binoculars that look like that. Could be an instamatic movie camera but again, can't find an exact match. If it's a power cord and not a neck strap, then maybe a cheap slide projector? It's sitting on some mechanism that could be feet, could be controls. It's a mystery for the ages.

Yeah, it looks like metallic feet or something are under it; maybe it's some sort of portable radio?  Maybe it is some sort of camera but it's discomforting to think of setting down a camera face-down with the lenses touching the table.  Given that the image is from an old Ektachrome, that thing could be some sort of slide projector.  Maybe a purse or a case for binoculars?  The Flickr site I found it on said this: "From a Kansas (possibly Wichita) estate collection of slides, mid-twentieth century.  Written on the slide: Lois and hairdryer."  I could find no other images of that lady or that cabin in that Flickr.

It's got me kind of stumped too and I'm old enough to remember the good old days.  I'm kind of leaning toward transistor radio or maybe camera though.

I think that's the case for her hair-dryer.

Yes. I'm sure you're right. It looked separate for a moment.

There used to be a lot of "cabins" around here like that. Basically unfinished houses, concrete foundation, drafty, reclaimed windows... Great in the summer but miserable otherwise. Looks like they have some hot dogs and burgers ready to go. That pack of burger buns looks like they already have meat in them. I'm pretty sure the blue thing about to fall off the table is some 60s-era birding binoculars.

Yeah, I was trying to figure out what that was.  It looks like she's done folding the laundry "whites" - sock and small towels - and she left the clothespins near the black and blue mystery object.  I like the Lipton Onion Soup mix; she's studying the packet, probably planning on making the "California Dip".
Yes, there's no sort of insulation at all, just exposed wall studs with the outer sheathing behind them - she's got her hair-dryer cranked up though.

"Justine and Scott's Page of Glee"?!?!?

That was started around 1994.  I made a joke about John Wesley Powell naming things after himself, Powell Wyoming, Lake Powell... of course they came long after he'd died. Someone didn't get the joke and sent the most vile and profane email I've ever received... probably in the first 100 emails I ever received in my life.

Good joke! Sounds like you ran into a deranged descendant of JW with a sore need to vent randomly.

Love that "tour" of the Cybersty, Bill. Especially the navigational arrows that lead back and forth past the front of KPIG (but never actually inside).
