Hit: "New Girl" (FOX)

Not only did she score FOX's biggest ratings for a scripted premiere in a decade, Zooey Deschanel brought the portmanteau "adorkable" into the mainstream vernacular (and who better to do it?). The show scored big ratings in its premiere, eclipsing its ... morelead-in from "Glee," which nobody expected, making it the first show of the season to earn a full season pickup, though thanks to baseball and extended episodes of "The X Factor," you won't see it again until November.

and, there's a different "african american" roommate than who was in the first episode. now that guy's on happy endings.

I thought they had canceled the show but due to baseball and X Factor, it's on hiatus until November. I'm really surprised this show got such high ratings; just didn't really do it for me.

i agree. it reminds me a lot of that other show (don't know if it's still on and can't remember the network) called My Boys.
i was disappointed by the first episode, haven't watched the 2nd. but i liked the one guy, one of her roomies a lot, too. i think he's the bartender. the other two, meh. too stereotypical.
