I didn't give a thought as to how brave he was until the motor fired and it damn near tipped the car over.  

I think they must have manually engaged the spark at the top of the stroke .  Can't think of any other explanation.

It was never on my must have list either but the story behind it is cool. Its likely the only one in existence that hasn't been turned into a lowrider,,,

I don't know. It looks like there is a center split on both the front and the back windows. In addition to the structural element, it moves the awkward blind spot from the corner to dead center in front! Safety and style!  The only thing missing is a way to get in, but really, you would just want this thing built around you - 'cause once you're in, you'll never want to leave!
