Thanks! I still have my Stax Lamba's I bought back in the 70's. They are a little bass shy compared to modern regular headphones but the midrange is soooo good. MP3 is brutal through them though. I bought a pair of Beyerdynamic DT-770's for that a few years ago and am happy with them for non critical listening.
Do you already have a collection of LP's? There is a lot out there and much can still be had cheap at yard sales and Goodwill etc. There are still some used record stores around also. Some of the old analogue gear, especially some of the tube/valve stuff has really gone out of sight price wise. Same with some of the turntables. There is still lots of great gear out there at good prices with a little hunting though. I haven't owned a Revox A-77 in decades but I do still have three Revox G-36's and a F-36 and a Studer A-62 and a B-62 among others. A long time hobby of mine has been restoring old recording equipment and at one time I had over 200 machines. I am down to "only" 100 or so now and have been slowly selling them off...

In that picture I am using a Thorens TD126MKIII with its original arm and an NOS ADC 220XE cartridge from the 70's. Both are going on ebay soon. I had collected up over the decades more than 30 cartridges and I have been checking them on the Thorens before selling them one a time. In the last year I have had 5 various Grace F9 series, a Adante E, Mission 773MC, and several ADC, Signet and others in use briefly. I got many of them NOS or open box from a friends store that closed in the 80's. I still have a Dynavector MR23, Dynavector Karat, a NOS Sumiko Talisman S, NOS Acutex M307MKII, and a AudioQuest 404B.  In turntables I also have a Empire 698, (2) 598's, Harman Hardon ST-7 and ST-8, a fully restored Marantz SLT-12, a Sony PS-X700 Biotracer, a TEAC TS-80 Magnefloat (magnetic platter bearing) and a JA Mitchell Hydraulic Reference Transcriptor. I had been using a Sony PS-X555SE Biotracter in the office system but recently sold it.  I haven't posted any more LP's the last week as I had to sell my Accuphase C200 and Carver TFM-45 to make this months house payments. I am repairing some other equipment now to put back in the system and test and eventually ebay for house payment money. I'm just glad I am a pack-rat or I would have lost the house ages ago. Hopefully it will sell before I run out of stuff.

Cleaning records today - Interesting Bootleg of Faces "A Nod is as good as a Wink". On Crash Records. A Crash Records exists but its not this company. Artwork is totally different than any other I can find. The album name and track listing is a clear sticker as is the company name. Almost like they used a generic cover. No info on this one on the net it seems. I bought this at a Flea Market back in High School.
