We are now streaming LIVE Whale Songs in real-time! We have been developing new technology using cell phone systems for high bandwidth transmission of the whale songs. This has never been done in the scientific community and has the potential to help expand the worldwide monitoring and management of marine life. As we test and improve these new tools you could experience a somewhat noisier broadcast than in past years, as well hearing periods of silence when adjustments are being made behind the scene. We will post a Notification whenever we believe the system will be down for a significant time. We invite you to stay with us throughout the season and enjoy the sounds of the Humpbacks as this technology evolves. Aloha

This raises a really interesting issue.  They actually refer to the thing they sent out as a "mold".  It seems that unless they require you to agree in writing to limiting the copies you make from the mold to personal use copies, this seems to be an implied license to copy their song.  Any of the "select" people who receive this kit could potentially legally make and sell copies of the record (in vinyl, for example).

Apparently, they were only sent to ten recipients - according to the video:

Depending on what material that "negative" mold is made of, it may not be possible to mold new records with many materials other than water.

"Indie band the Shout Out Louds have released their latest single in a very limited edition 7-inch record that plays on ice. ‘Blue Ice’ is the first piece of music the group has released for the past three years and is the first single off the band’s upcoming, as-yet-untitled, full-length album. The unique frosty vinyl was created in collaboration with ad agency TBWA Stockholm, and through experimentation, was created using distilled water to avoid bubbles in the tracks. The records can be spun on a regular turntable and rapidly diminish in quality once the melting process begins, so a specialized silicone cast allowed for quick removal out of the freezer and instant tunes and be heard."

Does anyone know if the band Yesca ever recorded, or released, anything more than the two songs, Here Come the Mounties to the Rescue & Lost Due to Incompetence (Theme for a Big Green Van) on the Up In Smoke soundtrack?

No but I found a cool record by Yeska. Skafrocubanjazz.

I wouldn't consider most vintage lounge stuff "strange"; but I find a lot of it "cool".  However, Perrey & Kingsley made some peculiar stuff.
