I think the Chrome renderer problem with CCS may just be a Mac thing from what I have read so far. I dropped back from Chrome Beta channel 19 back to 18 and it still did it for me. The problem is listed on their bugs list but until its fixed I'll be using Firefox Aurora. Its not as responsive and takes longer to launch than Chrome but RP doesn't cut out and it doesn't randomly grab 100% cpu time either.

The final deal killer is that Chrome now supports CCS3 (as does Safari but not Firefox) and there is a memory leak that randomly causing the Chrome renderer to use 100% of cpu time on one or more cpu core. When that happens your Mac grinds to a near halt. Sometimes it recovers but usually you have to force quit Chrome. It does this on both the release version and the beta version. They are aware of this problem but don't have a fix as yet. in the meantime I am using the Aurora version of Firefox with no problems as yet,

Chrome seems to have issues with flash (who doesn't) and certain JavaScript functions... and CSS. It's what you get when you take something that barely works and start piling layers of complexity upon it. Oh... that's what software developers do! Mystery solved!

Well, upon the last update of chrome on Debian, ctrl-c and ctrl-v no longer seem to work. Right-clicking and choosing an option still does. At least, this is how it seems from my perspective, so it's probably my fault.

I think collecting user browsing information is useful in developing better search engines. I don't know what the hang-up on browsing security is. I guess it has something to do with people who are ashamed of what they are doing online. In a way this is kind of funny. Yes you can disable that just like with Firefox.

What is currently the best and safest Chrome derivative? I'm using Chrome 16.0.912.41 and have no problems at all with it except it does crash when uploading to the LRC here.

This happened to me with update 14.0.835.94. People on the forum said the latest Canary 15 version also has the same problem. Not sure if this effects the PC version also or not.

I tried reinstalling it from scratch and it did it again after a few tries. Never did it at all before this last update. I looked on the Chrome website forum and there are lots of people saying they had the same problem with older versions of Chrome but so far cant find anyone with same problem on this latest version. Guess I'll go back to Firefox or Safari until they get it worked out. Selecting "back" from the right click menu doesn't work either. Not grayed out just doesn't respond.

I assume it's a combination of FB mucking with stuff and Chrome for Mac mucking with stuff because the 3 computers are not clones of each other but they're all Macs. Thanks everyone I'll just wait it out... I guess I was just carping about another FB system fail.
