Um, I don't understand how it figured out what I want it to do but I manually entered the formula for the first 6 cells in my column, then used those numbers +1 in the next 6 cells and dragged that out to 500 cells and it worked. I have avoided giving any praise to Excel for my whole life but (LibreOffice) did it! Still no idea how it figured out what I wanted to achieve.

Sorry if I've asked this before. It's an ongoing problem that I may have asked for help with before. I'm doing raffle tickets that need to be numbered. I get various tickets out of a sheet depending on the design. If I print them 123456 on the first page and 789101112 on the second page... they'll be all mixed up when I cut them apart. So I need to know how to create a list of numbers like this:
Where the first number is *whatever* but usually 001 Where the last number is *whatever* say 500 Where X is what I call the "repeat," which is the number of tickets per sheet...
From what I understand, this can all be accomplished with some calculation in Excel but I'm an idiot so if anyone can show me ...
This is Word/Excel based. Good luck. 10 min Mark is the "data" section.

001 002 003 004 005 006 007... will give me a stack of tickets that are sequenced 1,7,13,19,25... so what I need is a .csv of numbers that go by a repeat of 84 (500/6=83.?):
001 085 169 253 337 421 002 086 170 254 338 422... repeating up until 505 in this case. When stacked up and cut apart, I'll have stacks of 001-084, 085-168 etc.
There used to be a script online that I used and I've asked them to let me share it, but never heard back from them and now the website's defunct. Here's the page at the wayback machine but it doesn't load the script...

Being able to create a file, save it, then next week open that file on a different computer... cool. I have Dropbox, etc. but this is simpler.

Anyone using Google Docs to collaborate/share information? I've put a few things up and shared them with 25 people. Some have no problem reading, downloading, whatever. Some people get server errors, blank pages, or have other problems that I can't begin to figure out what is going on...
What's your best option for sharing a file with many people, some of whom don't/won't have a gmail account?

I use this all the time for school group projects. No one ever had a hard time using it that I know of— I didn't. The only weird things I can think of are:
1) sometimes if two people are editing the document at the same time, weird things happen 2) formatting doesn't always work when you cut and paste, in either direction.
Otherwise it's been great. Perhaps the people having problems are getting into the document at the same time others are editing... have they tried refreshing the page? I dunno what could be causing them to see a blank page though. Or have a server error.

I have done some collaborated spreadsheets and word documents through there, but only with two or three other users, and didn't experience any problems then. Other people have told me that with more users there were errors or some files not updating. I have a friend who uses it extensively with his co-workers; their lab is mostly Mac users, but I'll ask if they have PC-related issues. There may be some unwritten procedure.
Google docs will let you create pdf's on a PC: you have to "Download As PDF". Once that pdf is created, though, you can not edit it through the Google docs platform. Each successive version would have to be downloaded again as a pdf. It does change the formatting sometimes, particularly on things like resumes, so I always look at the pdf to make sure it bears some resemblance to the original.

Not on a PC, unless you have the full Acrobat package. I have MS Word, and it allows me to save to pdf. Most home users won't spring for the $400 or so to get Acrobat. Acrobat Reader is a free download, though.

The idea of platform independent data exchange sounds like a great idea, but if, as you say, there are glitches, maybe that isn't yet as helpful as it might be in later versions. And I haven't used editable pdfs enough to know whether there might be glitches there as well. Considering the cost of a full Acrobat package, it might just be worth waiting for Google to patch their system.
I don't know what their move to Intel from Motorola means for the hardware, but I suspect it gives them more flexibility in terms of software compatibility. And I've never been a fan of Apple's "don't ask how it works, just use it" OS philosophy. Especially in the early years of limited RAM, I appreciated being able (with MS) to adjust memory allocation to the application I happened to be using at the time. I wrote a start-up routine that allowed me to choose something like 5 different configurations. Not only did it make specific applications run faster, it avoided crashes. That was sort of fun in itself.
