Some of you people have control issues. Not that I'm trying to control your control issues. Go ahead and have them. I'm just saying how it looks to me.

I personally didn't see the original post to that topic as offensive, but I'm just one person. I thought the list of loathsome people (that you reached by following his link) was actually pretty damned funny and often dead-on. I would hate to think that such threads would be discouraged.

Maybe I'm just being more militant today than normal- the continuously crappy weather is eating away at my usual good humor- but I'd like to think that threads we find offensive, as long as they aren't utter spam, would just be threads we would avoid, rather than censure. {#Yes}

you didn't find that illustration the least bit offensive?
in the least, it breaks a guideline or two. I saw it as hateful and I will avoid it after I had a say about it.
do we not have the right to object to it as much as someone's right to participate in it?
seriously, feel free to keep it going if you find it at all beneficial.

I'm one who expressed that I would like to see that thread buried. I personally found the very title to be offensive. You posted immediately afterwards, MsJudi. That is just how it works in an anarchistic environment such as RP. We can voice our suggestions, but no one has to follow them. What I did not see, however, was anyone coming back and telling you that you shouldn't continue posting in that thread. Maybe it was a PM? Dunno... to each their own.

Well, who else can censure other than Bill/Rebecca?  I also thought it was a bit over the top to tell people not to post there, but there are certainly many times when, with spam AND with trolls, people post despite other people's requests for peeps not to.

I saw the thread as unnecessary and could very quickly see the potential for political infighting.... and as someone said, there's enough hate in the world.... my plan was to avoid..... I'd never tell anyone not to post anywhere, unless they asked my advice, which, people do at work, but not here....  which is fine by me.

no one can make anyone else post or not post and I didn't see that thread going anywhere positive. but it's ultimately your choice. if you (or anyone) sees anything worthwhile in that thread, have at it. I posted what I did because it was offensive to me.

& as usual, you used humor to get that point across.... a great way to comment without adding to the bashing

Ok, I admit to being confused and that it's my own fault- I don't get to spend as much time here anymore as I might like, so I don't even try to keep up on all the discussions I'd like to participate in. But I don't understand why we're trying to kill threads. Threads started by spammers, sure, those should die immediately, but otherwise, what's the point of trying to keep people from posting to a particular thread?

I posted to a silly-sounding thread this morning, something about loathsome people, and was promptly told that the tread was on a death watch and to leave it alone.

Huh? Can someone explain?

{#No} Saw that thread, and agree that it should be allowed to run its course all on its own. Reply or don't reply, it's each person's own choice, and not for anyone else to decide.

Ms. Judi, you post wherever you want, if Bill or R feel the need to delete a thread, they will. Don't let anyone tell you what you can and can't do.{#Snooty}
