I recetnly started using this company's products and am very happy with the results. No animal ingredients, no animal testing and recycled content packaging is their standard. It works really well, you don't have to use a ton and the subtle scent is heavenly.

Anyone tried Mira Hair Oil?

I was looking for ways to reduce tangling, and came across this product.  (It sounds like Snake Oil Magic Tonic, but I couldn't find any complaints about it on the internets.)

I have never used it,  but it reminds me of Mane and Tail which is popular here.  I never use it because I think it leaves a coating on my hair. .. I am lucky; all I use is a little olive oil in some warm water about once a month.

Well, this part sounds fantastic!

Mira ... gets your hair to grow 2-3 inches a month rather than the usual .5 inches!

I'm tempted to try it because of that. I started taking Biotin a couple of weeks ago. According to some friends, it makes hair, skin and nails grow better. I've also heard of using gelatin for the same. I have no idea what it would do for tangles.

Sounds effin great but $80??? I guess when you divide it...

Including brushing the hair out and then braiding, maybe 7 minutes. Years and years of practice. I think the last time I cut my hair was 1982.

It is all in the fingers. Studying, as I have done, spiders weaving webs I learned to imitate their leg spinning movements with my own fingers.

I am an accomplished braider myself.   ...only cut my hair twice in my life but I do trim it regularly.

My hair started getting curly after I had my first child. I had my hair cut pretty short when my daughter was about two or three months old. I was tired of dealing with it, tired of getting her spit up in my hair. When it started growing out, I noticed a curly bit in the back. When my son was born, I cut my hair VERY short. It might have been half an inch long. Again, I noticed a curly bit at the back and this time it looked a little too much like a pig's tail for my taste. I let my hair grow out, and it hasn't been above my ears since. The rest of my hair is wavy now, but there's still that one pig's tail bit at the back.

I suppose I have the best of both worlds, because I can keep my hair wavy (only parts of it are really curly) on the day I shampoo it, but the next day, if I don't wash it, I can just brush out the curl and my hair is pretty straight. But really, I'd love for my hair to be curly like lily34's.

Oooooo... hair stuff!!!

Just this past Wednesday, I figured out I was curly.  I've been fighting with it since high school to make it go straight and it has gotten so dry since moving to SoCal.  So I dried it with that diffuser thingy that came with my hair dryer hoping to keep it from getting fuzzy and fly-away and OMG.  Curls.  Ringlets.  The ends were so dry so I made an appointment the next day to get it cut.  4 inches lopped off and layered.  Loving it!

I wash it with sulfate-free conditioner (no shampoo,it drys my hair too much), towel dry with a microfiber towel, douse it with curl cream, some light gel, twist and clip and let air dry.  If I have to leave the house in a hurry I will dry with a diffuser with my hair in clips.  (how it looks when you clip it up when wet is how it will look when it is dry so I use the clips to get volume at the crown)

I don't have pics yet - I'll have T take a few tomorrow.

I went back to my natural dark brown and I'm going to start letting the greys come in gracefully.

You must post some pics.  Sounds gorgeous.

I've had my hair at various lengths over the years and just a few years back it was down to the middle of my back.  But I decided it was just a hassle to take care of so now when I get it cut I just tell them to put a #5 blade on the electric clippers and take it all off, leaves about a half inch of hair on my head and no fooling around with it.
