No - just looks like someone can't resist any reason to launch personal attacks on you instead of trying to foster the sense of community many folks hoped would prevail while we collectively grieved. A PM would have been effective - airing it out in public at this time is really crass and I would have hoped for better. /2¢

Neither one of you did wrong and neither one of you was trying to be callous from what I can tell. This whole community needs to remember to let everyone process this tragedy in their own way. Not everyone cries and falls apart, not everyone loses their sense of humour and not everyone stops carrying on as usual. It doesn't make them insensitive and it doesn't make them wrong. It just makes them different.
But the good thing about the RP community is its willingness to turn on each other, assume the worst, name call, and start a dust up - rather than look for an alternate explanation. That's why I stay here!

BillnDollarBaby wrote:The whole thing was just bad timing... any other week most peeps would have found it funny, too or at the least, not noticed it. I still think its funny. Death is funny. Laughter is all part of the grieving process. I've been to funerals where the whole family was laughing. There's a time for everything.
But I also think the timing of that particular title popping up could be construed as insensitive. Unfortunately, Eric Woolfson died at a time when some are feeling more raw than usual around here. I definitely don't believe anyone meant to be thoughtless.

However, I can tell you that in as long as I've been around RP, I've had dozens...maybe hundreds of comedic misfires - probably offending every person reading at one time or another. And each one of those times has been my fault, and mine alone.
Personally, I don't think Republicans have a sense of humor!
