Tried and failed to print on the discs themselves. Our cd printer is irritable, and we ran out of black for the other printer I was going to use to print on some Avery inkjet labels so in the end I did a quick sharpie scrawl, and what WAS going to be the disc label I printed on the sleeve instead.

I am fairly sure I got the songs in the right order in the liner notes but it doesn't matter if I didn't since I didn't include a track listing. I'll post a playlist in a few days.

The Need for Speed is AWESOME!  The cover art is even more spectacular a sight as I hold it in my hands!  Great tunes!  My step-kids and I were boogeying down this weekend.  So much - in fact - that when we built a tent outside in the front yard, they insisted on having it play in the background.  My #1 jam on it du jour is Barracuda.  I am really shaking the moneymaker to Heart today!  When I was little, I could not STAND that song because the local DJ seemed to play it every 5 minutes, but my inner rockstar has a much better appreciation of it now.  Also, did you know I had never heard the theme to Shaft all the way through until your mix?  Thank you soooo much!  I dropped a copy of my September mix in the mail to you today.
———————————————————————————————-

I'm in heaven right now - thanks to EVERYONE in this club.  I couldn't be more proud of how successful this little thing of ours truly is!  {#Group-hug}

Fishy, I seem to have missed this during my flyby of RP last night.

I'm glad you're enjoying it (and that the kiddos are too!), and let me echo the sentiment you've expressed—I'm proud to be a member of this little endeavor as well. Kudos to you for getting it all going.

rmgman - Finally listened to your CD all the way through, so when you get word from the rest of the pod, post away!
A couple of nice little surprises on there that I really enjoyed hearing.

I printed on some card stock and then folded it origami-like into a cd sleeve. Mails as an envelope. Less than one ounce. Plus a penalty for it being square (nonmachineable) and containing a rigid object (nonmachineable) or else it would have been a normal first class stamp like you pay your bills with.

very cool!!!!  like this???  http://www.zacharcher.com/origami/cd_envelope.html

Yeah - I bought my envelopes from the post office and they were a bit pricey.  Definitely going to look for some that I can buy in bulk somewhere else.  I still only ended up spending about $1.50 a person (postage, envelope, cover art materials, etc) which was no big deal, but I'm thinking the majority of the cost came from the envelopes and (consequenty) the overall weight and size of the package..

Actually, I believe sound check is specifically for burning... it's the equalizer that doesn't effect the burn.

But I didn't try sound check, so I can't confirm.

{#Clap} I love how "Blood" works on so many levels.  It's October so a spooky cover is not that big of a surprise, but THEN you school everyone on a well thought out theme: Artists with Kentucky blood, artists who have been around Kentucky long enough to bleed there so they may as well be Kentucky blood, and the evocative stories from each artist as they sing their hearts out.

EDIT:  So does this mean that now you can answer my burning questions mentioned in the earlier post??  {#Pray} {#Lol}

I used sound check, but the volume still seemed to jump around from song to song.  What to do about that in the future?

Mine are going in the morning.  A pretty little stack of packages is sitting on my desk, all addressed and everything.  I hope you guys can forgive my lateness   I've been leaving for "work" every morning at the ass-crack of dawn, commuting 1.5 hours (one way) and leaving "work" every day long after the PO closes, commuting home.  I know, excuses, excuses.  Sorry.  I'm going to sneak out at 4:30 tomorrow, though, so I can get these things in the mail.  I did stop at Fed Ex tonight, just to see if it would be that much more than the PO—- but at about $7 per package I decided to wait til tomorrow and just go to the PO.  I like you guys and all, but...

Please, Podlings.... tell me if the CD is in working order.  I do have a history of sending gimpy CDs... like with the last 4 seconds cut off every song.   I didn't get the chance to listen to all of them to make sure they worked, I just put my faith in iTunes.

And ONE LUCKY PERSON gets a bonus, hidden track.  That was an accident.  I don't know who got it, but one of you did.
